I meant to say I flashed to 7.52. The link I originally posted should take anyone to the Orinoco web site where you can get the latest stuff there. Do a search by OS for "Client software".

I have pretty much resigned myself to using the Sony drivers and software for Win2k or XP. I have a laptop with Win98 loaded with the Orinoco driver. With this combination I can use NetStumbler because it thinks I have a Orinoco card. I walked outside my house and did a scan of my neighborhood and picked up 3 access points of a local wireless ISP. I think they have MAC filtering because I couldn't do any surfing or pinging.

This stuff is a blast!

Well I walked into the compusa in Delaware yesterday and they had one sitting on the shelf with a price lable of 149. Had it price check and it rang up as 49. Picked that one up. I was in another compusa in NJ just a few days earlier and they had 4, but they were in the lockup. I didn't buy any at that time as I was hoping for a price of $19. $50 is a warm deal as I have picked up SMC/Linksys card for the same but with rebates. I'm going to hold off with investing too much more in to 802.11b as 802.11a are begining to appear in the market and I'm sure the 802.11b equipment will drop more soon.

I just bagged the last one at Greensboro C-usa for $49.88, but after I opened it, it was obviously a return. Had a post it note inside with an access point number written on it, and the cd had no envelope. Seems to be nothing wrong with it, though. I think I will keep it. Does anyone know if it works with the Dlink AP? Can you get these to work with another pc with a wireless lan card without an access point?

Yep, it should work with the DLink access point, or any 802.11b access point for that matter. Also, you should be able to make this work with another PC with a wireless LAN card. I don't have any experience with wireless yet, but I'm assuming you can simply set up one PC as a bridge or router to serve other wireless devices.
