B@$t@rd$!!! Mine got canceled too. I ordered the Ti4600, are they canceling the Ti4400 orderes too? I wonder if BestBuy bought out Gateway!! I will call in the morning, I find it hard to believe that they will not be selling them on their site in the future.

I got my cancellation notice too. I ordered a 4600 on the 21st.

They should have been honest and not said that it's no longer available from the manufacturer.
That's an outright lie.
What? Visiontek is no longer selling these? Give me a break.

I'm sure that all such orders will be cancelled.

Visiontek probably told them that they wouldn't be able to get any to them for a couple of months (Best Buy is a much bigger customer) and they decided that it wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with hundreds of screaming gaming nerds wanting constant updates on their orders.

Dell ran into the same problem.

my ti-4400 is still showing as backordered as of 3/5 10pm est.

i knew it was a mistake to deal with gateway. ive hated them ever since selling me my first POS system. then i hate them for selling
other people crappy overpriced componanents. I hated the fact that they didnt use standard MB so required overpriced memory.

but noooooo i just couldnt resist the $50 savings. hehe

oh well I look forward to doing buisness with newegg again when they get em. (if my order is cancelled). they havent done me wrong
in the last 3 rigs i built.

yep...we got f'd bigtime. Thing is, I got my GF3 that's in this box with the same kinda deal last April from Gateway. Had the card within a week. WTF happened this time?

Well, I got my Ti4600. I went to Bestbuy on sunday and got the last one they had. That's what you guys should have done, but they're probably all sold out now. I guess the old saying about a bird in the hand being better than 2 in the bush still holds true. Anyway, I also understand that there were some issues with these cards fitting into certain motherboards due to capacitors on the motherboards being placed in the way. So, there may be other good reasons to buy locally as well. I had no problems with it fitting into my P4DC6 but if I had have it would have been alot easier for me to simply return it to Bestbuy than having to go through all the hassle of RMAing it. Anyway, sorry you guys didn't get your cards but don't worry I'm sure there will be plenty of them availble later and of course the price will likely drop as well.

i'm not sure how other than legally (small claims court or class-action) but d@mmit, i've had enough of this cr@p from online retailers -- none of this would fly at all if it were local, they would be required to fulfill our pre-orders, and if they didn't then you could just sick your state's Attorney General on them and they would have to give it to you eventually.

why are we allowing ourselves to be taken advantage of by these online retailers?? fight back i say, fight back! (don't ask me how, anyone got some great ideas??)

This is bullsh*t. I say each person who ordered should get a coupon for 50 off 199 that's good until the end of the year - because THAT'S why they cancelled this - they couldn't stand losing so much money to coupons.

This is complete horsesh*t - and it's gonna have ramifications - you just don't screw with people like this. "Oh well, we ran out - we're just gonna delete orders now." That's not how you frigging do business.

What this really means:

"We're sorry, but we've depleted our supply of Ti4400 graphics cards, and have NO IDEA when we'll be getting more in. So instead of backordering your order, which was with the 50 off 199, we're cancelling it outright so if you want it now you'll have to wait and then pay our regular price of 289"

They sure as hell didn't pull this when I ordered my GF3 two summers ago and I had to wait nearly 2 1/2 months for them to "replenish" their stock. This isn't like the stink people are raising about the cheap Ti4600 at Best Buy - this was a legitimate purchase using a widely available coupon - and now Gateway is renegging because they don't want to fulfill the orders and probably don't want to do the grunt work over the next two months of filling them.

I am going to fight this, and I'm sure the god knows HOW many others will, too. As someone posted earlier, you DO NOT F*** with gamers.

I just received my TI 4400! NOT!...still showing as back ordered....my CC has been charged and I wonder how long it will take for them to credit it back once they finally notify me that they are going to cancel my order...
Anyone who got cancelled get their money back on their CC yet?

Deal not dead - I just sent the following to all of the news / hardware sites :

Hey Guys, Some of you have heard about or reported about the recent GateWay Accessory Store cancellations on all Geforce 4 cards. I received the cancellation email last night around 8PM CST and immediately emailed my contact at VisionTek regarding Gateway's claims that product was no longer available. First thing this morning, my contact at VisionTek emailed me back telling me that there had to be a misunderstanding in regards to the situation and that it would be looked into / taken care of immediately.

This morning, I spoke with Pete from the Massachusetts Gateway Accessory Store call center and here's what he had to say. He initially told me again that VisionTek cancelled the orders and that the product was no longer available. After prying a bit more and telling him that I knew for a fact that the product was not "unavailable", he said that Gateway was not receiving reliable information from VisionTek and that the product ship dates kept getting pushed back. Then he said that Gateway just got sick of it and decided to cancel all orders. He did not have any information on why VisionTek was blamed though. He did confirm that the email was sent to all customers that pre-ordered and the numbers were in the thousands because of sites like ***CAN'T POST*** which advertised the amazing price of $234 after a $50 coupon and free shipping.

Well, I just spoke with a supervisor named Karen at the Gateway Accessory store and she told me that because of the backlash from online media sites and users who pre-ordered, backorders will be reinstated if the customer calls and makes that request. In other words, for customers to get their orders reinstated they MUST contact Gateway via the telephone and request it themselves. Karen verified that over verified 1,400 orders were processed for the Geforce 4 line of cards and that each and every person must call, this is not a automated process. She did state that despite the reinstatement of past orders on the Geforce 4 lineup, no further VisionTek Geforce 4 cards will be allowed to be ordered until Gateway feels confident that they can fulfill VisionTek Geforce 4 orders in the future by set dates instead of projected dates. Anyways, just thought I'd fill you guys in.

This is definitely good news for people like myself that actually ordered a VisionTek Geforce 4 card through Gateway. If you could credit us as your source, we'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I thought I'd just cancel my order before Gateway could and see if I could find a 4400 somewhere. Heres the reply to my e mail:

Dear Mr. ,

Thank you for your email.

Your order is still showing as an active backorder. It has not been
canceled.

Kindly reply to this email if you wish to cancel the backorder. Once
the backorder is canceled, the credit authorization hold will be

I think its more likely that the $50 off coupon brought the price of the card at or below thier cost, they didn't want to lose $5 per card or whatever so they canceled it all Anyone verify the post above that says you can get the order reinstated if you call them personally?
