It's virtually impossible to convince a wife that a $300+ video card is a good idea. She might let you do it but she'll never think it's a good idea.

I was considering the ti4600 but realized it's too expensive for my tastes. Gonna wait on reviews of the ti4400 and ti4200 and see how they perform when overclocked. If the ti4200 does well, I'll go for that.

I read a great article on another site dealing with the fact that we probably don't really NEED the GF4. The performance potential of cards such as the GF3 200Ti haven't been reached, and you can play most games in 32 bit color at 40 FPS or higher with a PentiumIII 933.

I actually kind of agree with them. Maybe by the end of the year this card will be needed to keep up, but at the moment, the GF3 series is more than enough.

The only thing I am getting this new geforce4 card is that I play games at hi-res, my current geforce3 is good at games now, but this new card is going to OWN my computer!!!

If you are jumping from a Radeon 64 and playing on a 17" LCD that requires you to run games at a min of 1024x768, it makes sence (to me) to jump up to something that is going to last for awhile. I also wasn't happy with the GF3 ti500 or ti200 selection when it came to vid capture.

With this card the frames will be very playable @ 1024x768 or even 1280x1024 WITH AA on! w00t!

O and yet another thing.... DUAL monitors! As a designer its a need not just a want.

Well that and I just love eye candy : )

I didn't get a confirmation e-mail either other than order acknowledgement. My account did change from "Verifing Credit" to "Shipment Pending".

If we just get than March 5 ship date that will be sweet. i've been running this SGI Flat screen in analog mode for 6 months because I had just bought a Geforce 3 prior. I want to go DVI at last.

Now If I can get a decent price for the Geforce 3 on Ebay I'll be happy.

I got my confirmation email on my GF4 4400 this morning, stating an ETA of March 5th (I ordered yesterday morning).

Hmm,
After looking at the 4400 and 4600 which is what I orderd, I am thinking that I will change the order to a 4400. I was under the impression that the 4400 was only 64mbs and not 128. Paying 100$ more for 25mhz of speed is stupid.
Is the 4400 also going to be shipping 3/5?
