<< found it. The Ti4600 will have a DVI with max resolution of 1280 x 1024. I don't yet know about the Ti4400 (but I am hoping that it will be the same since they share RAMDAC and memory configurations >>

How about a link to this information.

Thanks for a great deal. Just got mine ordered yesterday. 3/5/02 expected ship date.

Will be a lot faster than the Dell 8500 order 10/3 cancelled on 12/12 now that was fun. NOT

Now I am glad I didn't get it HEHEHE

Someone asked about this earlier in the thread................

<< Unfortunately, Visiontek does not include a DVI-I to HD-15 monitor connector like ATI and Matrox do with their cards, so you cannot run dual HD-15 monitors on this card without paying for a separate adapter. To be fair, the adapters are fairly cheap and can be found quite easily, but we wish one would have been included. >>

Whoever ordered late in the game IS NOT getting this card shipped 3/5 - if you check your order statuses, most likely you'll be greeted with the same thing I was on my 4400 order - "Product backordered."

On the bright side, if it says they're backordered - it means they have them in and are allocating early shipments now.

I believe it says "Backordered" for everybody, just not for the ones who ordered late.

The estimated shipping date of 3/5/02 came in the automated confirmation e-mail. There's no mention of that date on the website as far as I can see. I doubt many of us will see our cards shipped on that day actually, but Gateway might always pull through, who knows...

Just hope Gateway doesn't pull a Dell and ship products to people who ordered later first.

Here is some possibly bad news for owners of some Epox motherboards who get the Visiontek 4600, from HardOcP.com

<< I got my brand new VisionTek GeForce 4 ti-4600 this morning and when I went to install it I found that a capacitor on the EPoX 8kha+ motherboard bends the bottom capacitor on the VisionTek GeForce 4 enough to kill it. Spread the word because this is a HUGE problem because both of the products popularity. I was looking around for pictures of the other GeForce 4's to check the height of the bottom capacitor from the bottom of the card and couldn't find any high res pictures of them. From the picture on the PNY website it looks as though the capacitors are far enough up to avoid contact with the motherboard capacitor. I'm still looking for a picture of the ASUS card. If you could help with any of these pics I would greatly appreciate it. Thx much! >>

Hope it ain't so, but if you got that Epox becareful if you install the Visiontek 4600.

This is real bad news. I believe that VisionTek used nVidia's reference board for their Xtasy 4600 card. I can not believe that nVidia would not have tested the TI4600 on the Epox 8KHA+. The 8KHA+ is one of the most popular KT266a boards out there (Man, I own one).

Keep this thread alive, as I and others very well might have to cancel orders because of this new enlightment.

Supposedly the Visiontek Ti4600 doesn't only support VIVO it also supports the Personal Cinema which has a TV tuner on it. So it might be possible for those who already own the Geforce2 MX personal Cinema from Visiontek to upgrade to the Ti4600 and still have the awesome TV tuner, and capture abilities.
I also read on the hardocp web page that Visiontek is shipping the cards out ASAP but without the VIVO module BUT are including info on how to get one shipped to you for free when they become available. I personally would rather have a personal cinema box but I'll settle for a VCR as my TV tuner and s-video in if I have to.

I'm already scemeing on how to overclock this video card, a nice 1-u spec copper CPU cooler and some alumina epoxy could come in handy. And ooh some nice Tin coated copper ram sinks should help me reach 750+ mhz memory. I can't wait to run all my games 1280x1024 with 2x FSAA (or quincux) on my Compaq TFT7020 LCD.

Next upgrades: AMD T-bred or hammer CPU, serial ATA hard drives, and 2nd LCD monitor

Here's a pic of the nVidia reference design, from anandtech's review..

Pic of Ti4600?

I'm concerned about my MSI K7T Pro2.. I've looked at the Epox and the MSI, and they seem to have a capacitor in the same place.. the MSI's seems smaller, from the pics on NewEgg, but it's hard to tell..

edit: added link to HardOcp forum thread..
cheers,

That's the last straw for this Epox 8KHA+ owner. I've learned to live with all the bios revisions and the boot issues, but my GF4 TI4600 not fitting? I'm finished with it! I'm going back to Asus whom I never should have left in the first place. Just ordered and A7V266-E. I will not be denied awesome graphics/performance!!

My guess is that Epox did not adhere to the AGP 2.0 guidelines with the 8KHA. I would definately not bash nVidia on this bumble.

This was ripped from amd.com Epox boards forum:

Here is a reply that I got from VisionTek:

The TI4600 is built to exact AGP 2.0 specifications. Unfortunately Epox strayed from the AGP 2.0 design
specifications on that model mother board.

Visiontek
Technical Support

Bottom line. VisionTek followed nVidia's reference board, nVidia adhered to AGP 2.0 specs......Epox DID NOT.

I think I will be writing Epox a letter, but first I have to order a new KT266a board.

Later Epox.............

Spoke to a CSR today re: the ti4400. He stated that they have ship date for 3/4 and have 400 backordered. Said they had 4000 1.6a's backordered, no eta date though.

Anyone call to see how many people are bakordered for the ti 4400?
I ordered on the 21st, However, this deal was posted at so many places, I wonder when we will actually recieve them.
There is already a shortage on the 4600 boards.

Also, does anyone know if visiokntek is including 3.3 or 3.6 ns ram?

Epox and MSI issues (supposedly some MSI boards have the capacitor in pretty much the same place as the Epox) aside, I've noticed a lot of people are posting where to find DVI->VGA converters for cheap.

I found one today at Micro Center, QVS brand, "VGA to DVI Flat Panel Display Video Adaptor HD15F/DVI-M" Model No. CF15D-FMA, SKU 958512 - $11.99. MC has a 30-day return policy on pretty much all types of hardware, so if this doesn't work - you can restaple the package and bring it back. Just reconnoitering. I don't see why these wouldn't work from a DVI->VGA use. If anyone knows better - please post otherwise.

Yeah, SS, but some people like to walk out with it - and the price is about the same from MC than it would be at mwave with shipping.
