The router is administered via it's internal web interface, which is accessed via an IP address typically 192.168.0.1 or something similar. Thus it is possible to access it from any machine with a recent browser. In fact for some procedures (in particular Firmware updates) it is adviseable to only perform them via a wired connection.

Anybody know about the perfomance issue of the router?? it sames that it will lose connection every 30min-6hr........I need it work every sec for my ftp server.

Got lucky in Boulder, sweet talked the manager down to $59.99 and bought all 5.

He even printed me seperate reciepts for each one incase the rebate needs them, now I just need a couple extra addresses to mail them to.

Rebate limit is 10 products - so one address should suffice

You may have a lemon or possibly an old firmware version. Check M$ for a firmware update - that may resolve it.

OK,just got back from Staples and target. i was able to get a 'few' desktop version from target, and left one there. Went to staples, they dont have these at any store, so i had to order online from the store. They didnt want to PM at first, b/c the receipt from target didnt show full name, just "MS", and no number that matches the UPC. so had to run back and forth to get the price tag, but target wouldnt give me one. Finally, the manager from Staples gave in, and took my word for it, after he compared the box i got from target, and the picture on their website. I didnt get 110% PM and $$off from coupon.

OK, here's another question ( or 2), is the base station from this kit the same as the basestations that are sold alone? Since I only want additional usb thing, i want to sell the base station later.

Or, can this basestation be used to extend the range?

Yup, but today only. Its a one day deal that they do every 3 months I think. You guys rock BTW with the Target posts, with my friend as an assis manager we eat up the discontinued and sell it on eBay.

I think this deal is the same for every Target. I was in Target(Toledo, OH). The sign shows $179.99 while check out at $99.

Well the Target I hit (Jantzen Beach, Portland OR), had it listed on sale at 179 from 199. The teenagers running the electronics department were entirely unhelpful and actually rude. I asked them to price scan it because I had bought it from another target at $99, although I made that part up. They acted like I was trying to rip them off. Needless to say, I didn't get in on one at this deal so YMMV. I wish there was some way to know when/ if they were going to actually drop it to $99 like all of the rest of these stores.

I've tried several Targets in Houston and it seems like this is only flying at the Super Targets. I got the desktop kit but I need to go exchange it for the Laptop Kit. Will try tomorrow.

The Target I went to also said $199 on the shelf, $179 when they scanned it =( There's another one right down the street (literally!!! I don't know how it works but they both have a lot of ppl going to them... something like the Starbuck's on every corner...) but didn't get to check that one out yet...

Is this only configurable with a browser? I actually prefer to telnet into the device and configure it. I didn't notice if it has any ports other than an ethernet port. Can anyone that has one of these comment on the ports if any...I'm curious if it has a serial port that can be used for access if you are having problems getting in via a browser. Finally, I did notice on the MS documentation that some features/functionality are not available in Windows 2000. Can anyone comment on that? I'm planning on using this with XP Pro and Win2k laptops. Thanks...

none of them have it. so either ppl beat me to them (or hoarded them), or target took them off the shelves someone hook me up!!! please?
