Got the last MN-620 Wireless Notebook Kit for $99.99 + tax - $20.00 rebate + $0.37 stamp = $88.86. These was at my local Target (Orland Park, IL). They had a shelf tag of $199.99. They had 2 Wireless Desktop Kits remaining in the shelf.

Hooked mine up 2 days ago and it works very well. Getting 1470 down and 216 up on my soon to be gone Directvinternet DSL. Good as my desktops. 5 out of 5 bars at the furthest point I can go in my house!! Through 2 walls and the Air Conditioner/furnace at one place!

Had a little trouble getting my laptop wireless to work but I called Microsoft and actually got excellent support!!! I take back some of the things I said about them!!

Replacing existing router was a snap.

Some in Maryland

Bought one two weeks ago for the $99 when the thread was first posted. Since then, I have been back to the Target store up in Frederick, MD. There is still 3 desk unit sitting on the shelf in the computer section. That was as of last night. I have already search the Targets in Gaithersburg and Germantown going up the 270 corridor.

OK. Please tell me if what I am attempting is possible.

I bought two of these sets. I'm going to setup a wireless network with one of the base stations and then try to use the second base station as a bridge and hook it to my xbox. Can I use the bridge mode to accomplish this and have it feed off the first basestation?

I was going to buy a Linksys WET11 but this is cheaper plus I got the wireless card to boot.

If the above scenario won't work, can someone please explain how to do it, if possible, so I don't have to run an ethernet cable across the floor and create a trip hazard.

Thanks.

Regards,

Shiz

EDIT: In my reading about this, it doesn't appear to be possible. Has anyone tried it and got it to work?

Thats good as I wasn't sure how I was going to be able to get xbox live up and running since the xbox is on an entirely different floor from my computers. This will help out immensely!
Anyone know how to get this going since you're supposed to install the software b4 the hardware, but it's not like you can install the software onto the Xbox. Any help?

uh.. they mean on the host computer.

And how are you going to hook up your xbox via wireless? when they say xbox compatible I am pretty sure they mean via cat5.. It has a 4port switch built in..

Yeah same here - they had the deal advertised through 12/28/02. Just funny how "miraculessly" they had stock again on 12/29/02.

A good combo deal (valid only until today though) is the netgear 614+/650+ combo at costco B&M for ($159.90-$45MIR=)$115+tx

Congrats to everybody who got in on this one

Yo

It's probably buried in this thread somewhere but does anyone have a link to the $20 rebate form?

Thanks.
