Well today I received confirmation on both my rebates. I received two email's in which it sent me to RebatesHQ.com, were it confirmed that both of my rebates were valid.

Here are the messages it gave me:

Rebate: $30.00 Rebate Check.
Rebate Information For: ********
Promotion: Purchase Maxtor 80GB 7200 Ultra Series Hard Drive at Fry's Electronics or Outpost.com only
Submission Type: MAIL
Date Received: 12-30-2002
Status: Processing Rebate

I had my $50 approved and not the $30. However i replied to the email and they corrected the situation.

What was the email address you replied to?
The email I received says this at the bottom, "You will be unable to reply to this email because it has been automatically generated".
The email was from MAXTOR.Rebate.Center@rebatesHQ.com.

One thing I did was to write on the top rebate that there was another rebate included. I used a highlight pen too so they couldn't miss it. Seemed to work ok for me.

*Whew* just got confirmation last night of both rebates. I'm glad I included a copy of the ad along with a note explaining the situation. Thanks for the hot deal!

I sent both the $50 and $30 rebates in the same envelope with large lettered notes that I was submitting two rebates and explaining that they both required original upc's. I made this note on both rebate forms. They processed both rebates as $50 rebates and denied one as a duplicate. DAMN - I should have known better than to trust another Outpost rebate like this. Now I'll have to spend more time calling and resubmitting the $30 rebate than it's worth!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY ANYTHING FROM THOSE CROOKS AT OUTPOST.COM. I had to file BBB and FTC complaints against them on an IBM Web cam rebate last year.

Rebates HQ said that I had two $50 rebates on the drive, and marked one as invalid. A quick email asking for them to search for the $30 rebate was all it took. Great service...much better than New RoachHotel...

Just had to RMA this drive

It started being recognized by the motherboard about half the time, and if it was on for more than an hour accessing it made it crash the comp.

I emailed them and didn't get a reply, and nothing showing up on my email status.
Would you mind letting me know what email address you emailed them at? Perhaps even the body of your message I could use?

Obviously my words fall upon deaf ears, maybe yours are better!

Their toll free number didnt have a long wait when I called a few days ago. The CSR was courteus and fixed the problem I had (with another rebate)

Yep, recieved my two rebate checks today in the mail together. I'm surprised they were not stolen or lost the way they came in the mail.
