Thats why my order looks like.

Note that OM lists it as a 2.4MP camera, it is only 2.0, I mentioned that to them. My total on my online invoice also comes up $50 lower than my actual final price.
Learning fast that OM is not a very professional company.

Thanks to RossMAN once again, this is not the first time he has helped me on a hot deal! I called up one OfficeMAX this morning and talked to 3 people including the manager, and all refused to honor the online coupon. I thought I would call 1-2 more stores and as luck would have it, the second store I called has a VERY helpful Store Supervisor answering the phone. She said sure no problem, we'll honor the online coupon. So I went up to the store, found her and she helped me directly even though she was working in CopyMAX in the back of the store. She also got me the free 128MB CF media card after I asked for it of course

So now my girlfriend (yup that's right, 4 year anniversary present) has a Canon PowerShot A40 camera! I'm sure I"ll be getting some use out of it as well. Thanks again RossMAN!

Looks like this should work for me, but I'm not going to get too ecstatic until I have both the camera & the memory in my hand...

However, my camera order said it'll ship in the next 24 hours (after waiting a day and a half in "order-limbo"?), and the CSR just called me back and said the memory would be shipped in a separate order, and arrive in 1-3 business days.

For those curious - I placed an order for just the camera Sunday night (EDIT: using the 50 off 250 coupon); after I placed the order, I called and asked for them to include the memory. Monday I called back to verify it had been added, CSR #2 said that no, it hadn't; I asked her to add it. Today (Tuesday) - I get an email saying my order has been processed & will be shipped in the next 24 hours, and then a little later CSR #2 calls me back and says that the memory will be shipped in a separate order.

RossMan - true, going to a store might have been less hassle. However, I've got a test today for my summer class, and I didn't want to spend loads of time visiting OfficeMax and dealing with potentially hostile managers. Well, that, and no B&M's were open late Sunday night when this deal tempted me & the urge to rack up more credit card debt overwhelmed me

Some of the Office Max ads last week didn't have the A40 in it. I was searching through a few in my state trying to find a 128M version (64M for my city and most around). However, one or two of the ads I clicked on were totally different and didn't have the A40 at all.

Just thought I'd pass that along for the folks that aren't able to find it in their local ad.

They are going to "investigate" me.

I did not receive the package until about 4:15 and the shipping department was getting ready to close, so I have not spoken to anyone there yet, but the customer service dude that I spoke too said that they can examine the weight of the package to determine if there was a camera in there or not.

It really does suck though, since I was getting anxious to play with the camera.

I wonder if it was a return that did not have the camera or someone working there stealing the thing.

I should be getting the camera and/or the cf card tomorrow (two different packages) and will report back if I do. When I had called, the lady had to place a separate order for the cf card and she gave me an order number. I was able to find it within my account profile at officemax.com to clarify that she did give me the right card and I wasn't going to be charged for it.

Another thing I didn't care for when I ordered online was that I put some of the shipping address information in the "Company" line and none of it printed out upon my final order and as I found today, my PACKAGE!. So, I got a call from a shipping guy that said he didn't know where to deliver the package. He said he'd call me tonight when he was back in my area to get specific directions. Being that I will be getting two packages (one for cf card, other for camera), this will create a bit of hassle as well.

AGAIN, to clarify, even though it has already been mentioned several times previously....The contents in an Officemax sale ad pertains to YOUR STATE/AREA...not to EVERYONE. Here's the steps for finding the ads in your area:

1) Go to officemax.com
2) Scroll down the main homepage and on the right-hand side towards the bottom you should see something that says "In Store Features" under a Special Offers column.
3) Follow the rest of the way to your state to view the appropriate coupon/ad.

Just called again now, and luckily I got in touch with a very courteous rep who said she'd have them ship me the card free, so it looks like I won't have to write a nasty e-mail after all. Of course, I'm going to keep checking on my order for the next day or so to make sure they really did add it, but hopefully this will be the end of it all.

I think what I've learned from this is, as a previous poster stated, that OfficeMax is really really disorganized and random. If the deal doesn't work out for you, keep trying because this seems like simple luck of the draw. If you get a rude or apathetic csr, just call back later until you get in touch with someone helpful.

Placed an order online through Ebates, then I called up to apply $50 off coupon and add 128MB Lexar CF card, no problem. What the CSR had to do though was to cancel my initial order and ring it up as a new order with the camera and the memory card in it. Whatever, as long as it works. It will be for my future father-in-law's father

Since people seem to be having luck with this, can someone tell me this. I live in an area where all the ads were the 64M card and not the 128M card. If I were to order online with the coupon code, do you think I could still call and talk them into giving me the 128M card? Are they going to hop online and look up my city's ad to check? I guess either way it's a good deal, but obviously I'd prefer to get the 128M card.

I did exactly that. in fact, the warehouse was out of the 128MB card, so it was filled by the local store.

They called and told me in was in, and the very helpful (and cute!) manager even tried to get my online order changed so I could just take a camera from the store, but alas, it had already shipped.

Oh well....camera will arrive tomrrow.

Then I submitted a request to price-match this site, who sells it for $240.

I found out about the B&M deal yesterday (with the free CF card). So I went into my local OM last night with my box and order sheet, and they happily gave me this compact flash card for free! (They ended up refunding my previous purchase, and re-selling me the same camera for the same price -- just so it would be in their system.) Wonderful customer service.

This morning, I checked my email -- the PM had finally been approved! Per our Corporate office, a credit of $59.99 will be issued to your card for the price match.

Bottom line: $300 - $50 - $60 = $190 for camera + CF card!

Hope this story sways some of you who are sitting on the fence...

Deafening - SMOKIN'!!


Mine is close - I ordered Sunday night (using the $50 off coupon), called & got the 128mb CF added (called again Monday to make SURE it was added; good thing b/c it hadn't been!). Then Monday night I emailed a PM request with Harmony - $279 + free UPS Ground. I explained in the request that, since it was taking 3 business days to get my camera (ordered 7/29, exp. delivery 8/1), that they shouldn't compare to Harmony's next day delivery. Today I get an email stating my PM was accepted, and I'll get credited for the $20.98 difference!

So, $299 - 50 - 20.98 + Free 128mb CF = $228.02 (+16.xx tax - ugh!). If that's not a HOT deal....

Now I just hope I get the camera tomorrow, like I'm supposed to... OM's site says it still hasn't shipped, which concerns me... If it's not shipped by 1pm, I'm going to call and ask (the order confirmation email I got yesterday at noon said it'd ship within 24 hours).

Yeah I had the same problem. I convinced the CSR to look up the advertisement since I no longer get the paper but he said he only found 64MB CF card which he added onto my order for me. It is an IOMEGA card. What is up with that?

BAH! The OM I went to couldn't resell it to me because there was "no way" to override the 299 price since I got it for 249.

Just called Cust Service to place my order. After making my request, politly answering her questions (otal of 5-10 minute) she agree to place the order including the free card. Only problem is the camera is on out of stock and on back order. She did agree to send out the card now though and should get it tomorrow (free of charge).
