Woohoo!

Just placed the order online, called in & asked about the free memory. Friendly CSR said "No, it wasn't included", I asked if they could add it in, since it's in the ad, she said "sure, no problem"!

w00t!

I'm still waiting for it to show up on my order tracking page, but I suppose I should just be patient & stop clicking refresh.

Est. delivery is 8/1. (not as fast as picking it up at B&M, but I've got other stuff to do anyway, and I don't need my new distraction quite yet )

I guess the original post wasn't clear enough. so the deal is that OfficeMax flyer has A40 with 128mb CF for $299 in B&M, while the CF doesn't show up online right?

I thought RossMan's search for DigitalCam was over, but now it just got more complicated. I'm still on the fence about this....damn, too tempting now.

Anyone know if this "Lexar" is a good brand?

Also Lexar and Kingston make excellent CF media so you shouldn't have any problems with this.

It's a great deal IF you can use the $50 off $250 coupon and get the 128MB CF free, if you had to choose I'd get the $50 off over the CF.

Does OM pricematch walmart.com? walmart.com sells the camera for $283.64 with free shipping and no tax, 115% pricematch would give 283.64 - 18.80 = $264.84 - $50 off $250 coupon (not sure it it works on phone orders or not) = $214.84

thats provided they'll PM walmart.com and that you can get the $50 off $250 on phone orders

whats wrong with smartmedia?
i saw the a40 at local OM. it has a better feel in your hand than the 2600. but from the reviews, the 2600 is supposed to take better pics. the 2600 is kinda akward to hold though...i'm always afraid i'm gonna drop it or something. IMO

anyone know any good deals on a camera bag for the 2600? i want one what is semi waterproof and comes with an extra pocket for me to put my charger/battery/free 32 Mb SM card. BTW, i got the 2600 + 32 Mb SM card for $213 shipped

Well, I don't know about for others, but for me, my HandEra 330 PDA also uses CF, so I wanted to share my CF cards between the PDA & a digicam.

Jya: Have you checked your order tracking page at OM.com? Does it have the CF added? I'm wondering if it's supposed to be added to the page, or if whatever the CSR did happens "behind the scenes" and so it gets added to the order, but doesn't show up on the tracking page. It doesn't appear on mine yet this morning..

OM.com will pricematch websites. But you should be able to find a lower price than walmart.com's. Reference the other threads about the Canon A40 for some ideas.

Just did the whole deal with no problems.

1) Placed the order online
2) Called OfficeMax Cust Service and told the lady I saw the ad for a free 128 MB card
3) Gave her the Item # for the free card (Item# 20173152)
4) She had to place a seperate order, but I won't be charged for it.

Getting both the camera and memory card tomorrow. Cancelled my order that I had with Dell because they are out of stock for over a month. Oh baby...I can't wait

Walmart.com looks like it has one of the better prices for PMing, considering that OfficeMax will take next day shipping into account when calculating the PM price. eCost is a little better with $281.17 with next day shipping. Last time I did the OfficeMax.com PM they didn't do the 115% thing, they just matched the price (Oly C3020 PMed to Cameratopia). I'm not sure why, so don't rely on it if you order via the internet.

This is a good deal.

$299.99 OM price
-$50 coupon
=$249.99
-$50 CF card value

It's like you are getting the camera for $200. If only his was the S110 or S300. I can dream.

But would OM PM when their offer are camera and CF? If you just order the camera and request PM, you'd pay $231+tax instead of $249+tax. But $18 is a avery good deal for $128M CF.

I didn't have any luck talking to a CSR for the on-line store. She said that the CF part number didn't come up - so it must be a B&M deal only. So, I decided to head over to the nearest B&M Officemax during lunch today. I told the lady that they were out of stock on-line and that I was told I could use the cupon at the store. I guess they sold all of them over the weekend! So she went to check if another store had it. She came back and told me that their distribution center had a bunch of them and it could be delivered by tomorrow. So she punched everything in - including the $50 off cupon (thanks Rossman!) and the total came to $264.99 delivered! (thank GOD I don't have to wait for Dell!)

I already own the S330 so this is the perfect wedding gift for my brother! 128mb CF card to boot!

Thanks for the great deal!

the manager of one wouldn't do it.

and the other one was gonna do it, but they couldn't do it unless i returned mine and bought it again, thus losing the 50 dollar discount.

For those of you calling in to talk to the CSR, the part number won't come up for them. The lady I talked to spoke to her supervisor who then said she had to place a SEPARATE order for the Memory Card. So...you might want to mention this if you try calling and have any problems. So even though I will get two packages, I'm not paying anything extra. =)

ok so i am assuming theres 2 ways of getting this?

1. Bring $50 online coupon to OM b&m and they'll pm?

2. Order Online for $250. Call and PM the ad, and they'll add the 128 cf?

It sounds like more people are having success with #2 doing it online but I'm going to try B&M instead.

Camera is BackOrdered.

Went into the loacl OfficeMax, and to to my surprise, they had NO Canon digital cameras at all. There were two employees in the store, both occupied with customers, I waiting around 10 minutes, got sick of waiting and left. Went home and ordered it online with the $50 off $250 coupon and called up the 800 number and told them the camera was unavailable at the local store (not out of stock, only available through mail at the store), and because of that I was unable to get in on the free 128mb card. After requesting to talk to a manager (since the original CRS could not do anything for me), I talked to them about getting the free card I could not get in the store (since they don't carry the camera, although clearly advertised in the LOCAL weekly). After a bit of coaxing, and since the camera was backordered, They canceled my order, made a new one with the memory card and coupon! And they are shipping them seperatly since the camera is on BO.

When I placed the order online, the estimated delivery for the camera was Aug 13, but the CRS was unable to confirm any date.

So in the end, I get the Canon Powershot A40 with 128MB Lexar CompactFlash for $263.73 after taxes

BTW, the local OfficeMax that does not carry the camera is in Eau Claire, Wisconsin (54701)

Have to wait for it, but the reviews on this camera are awesome, looks better than any other 2 MegaPixel camera I've seen on the market for the price.

Called local OM and asked if I print out and bring in the online coupon. They said no problem. Get the rep's name and then go in and get the camera and CF.

Thanks for the deal!

Sweet! That's the important thing is to call ahead and get them to commit over the phone then you avoid the weirdness when you arrive at the store. Always write down their name and the date/time you called.
