Does anyone know if there are any printable $25 off $100 coupons? I am not asking anyone to violate the rules and post them, I just want to know if they exist (and if so, please PM me with info).

The coupons I have are online only, and the flyer for these special prices is in-store only.

OfficeMax.com has a low price guarantee, though. Does anyone know if they will match the store price or if they historically change their web prices to match their "in-store only" weekly specials?

I hear ya.
I spent hours and hours last week going from one Staples to another, trying to find a store with
PD 24x that had the "correct sticker" that means it was a Lite-on drive. If found, I would then
have to fight with CRS's to have them try to pricematch, play with coupons, etc.
After several hours, I said screw this, went to Newegg.com and placed the order.
5 minutes and it ws on it's way.

How much time are your hours worth?
RT drive time, rebate time, coupon time, hunting down time?
For some deals it's worth the trouble, but not for them all.

Hi, I know this is OT, but could you guys that bought the black Liteon from newegg please tell me if the black drive is a black-black in real life or a gray black. If it matches an Antec black (gray) case perfectly, I might consider getting it and replacing my beige drive.

The picture at Newegg shows that it's black black, but I don't know if it's a light reflection thing.

BTW.. I got in on this deal last time and got the Liteon 24x drive for the $65 AR. It's a phenomal drive. It's been able to burn everything that I can throw at it and it does it so fast. Who needs Plextor when this thing does such a good job for such a good price.

or a Samsung...or Epo...or other generic drive.

Lite-On drives have the phrase "Smart Burn" on outside of box. I have seen this with Pacific Digital and recently with TDK (at Circuit City). If the box says Burn Proof or any other phrase it is not a Lite-On.

Is that specifically with the PD 24x? I bought a PD 16x at CC a while ago, and it's definitely a lite-on because I was able to flash the ROM to a new version that I got from the lite-on site. It has "BURN-Proof" on the front of the burner as well as on the box.

But again, it could be because it's an older model

you are on the money.......from what I can figure out from the Lite On website, 16x cdrw were called "Burn Proof". I believe they now have trademark for "Smart Burn" and that phrase is exclusive to 24x and up. I should modify my previous statement to say "Any 24x cdrw with the phrase Smart Burn on the box is Lite-On."

Smartburn and BURNProof are two different technologies, neither of which are owned exclusively by Lite-on. They are licensed. While every Lite-on 24x is now SMARTBURN, not every SMARTBURN is a Lite-on.

exactly... just how not every burnproof is a sanyo (who i believe owns the tech) and not a plextor (who many believe own it)... its all just licensed to others

Are you sure? I just went to the Cendyne Web site and there is no mention of buffer underrun protection anywhere. Don't you think that's kind of a large oversight?

Here's a way to get a free item with this. Add Item# 02214650, Belkin CD/DVD Jewel Cases - 10PK, they are on sale for $3-$3MIR=0.

This should make your total $102.99. If you can find the 25 off 100 coupon on google, then the total will be $77.99+tax=$84.42 in CA. With the MIR for Both Products it comes down to $61.42 total.

So $99.99+$3-25+tax-20=~$61.and change

They should have it. OfficeMax's site says they do, and while I agree that Cendyne's site is pretty lacking, I did find a Cendyne rep. answering a tech-support question and stating that the 24x burners do have burn proof.
