<< AOpen DOES SD2 !!
Ahh, found it. I remember awhile back that CloneCD had an "Amplify Weak Sector" feature that enabled CloneCD to do SD2 backups even with drives that weren't technically SD2 compatible. In the US and UK you are not allowed to use the AWS function and it isn't "available" although you can see it (it's greyed out).

EXCELLENT WORK!!!
Now, will Nero 5.5 have the AWS feature after we change regions too or do I have to obtain a copy of CloneCD? >>
Thanks. CloneCD is the recognized leader in performing . . . err . . . security related backups. In fact, even with a drive that can "do" SD2 on its own, only CloneCD enables certain backups to be made, which Nero and the others can not do regardless of whether the drive is SD2 capable. It has quite a bit to do with RAW reads and writes and subchannel data, etc. The CloneCD site is pretty good at explaining it all. For SD2, I don't really know very many other programs that can do it.
There is another program out there that works in conjunction with CloneCD to help with SD2 writing for normally non SD2 type drives (I think someone above mentioned it)--and can be found on one of the websites listed above.
