ss284, send it back. sounds like you got a defective drive. if someone else had problems with theirs, you would have heard already. the drive is supported by clonecd. dont even waste another cdr.

I just checked Staples.com and their rebate center now shows the rebate for the Pacific Digital 12x10x32 CDRW as $40, not $20 like previously, so you don't need an original copy of the $40 rebate form any longer.
Well, PDC has non existant tech support. They disconnect you after they tell you all their reps are busy.
I have emailed them, but before I return this drive, I want to know if anyone else is having this problem.
No problems here. You don't have to contact the manufacturer, just call Staples, tell them that it doesn't work and they'll pick it up. You don't need to pay shipping. Or go to your local B&M Staples and exchange it right there!
I need some help. I ordered the drive online and Pricematched with Sam's club to $99.98. Then i added some rubberbands to push the charge above $100. After that I gave the CSR the coupon code for $25 off and he applied it and told me that the final cost was about $84.xx. I got my drive yesterday and the invoice showed the full price and today when i check my CC statement on line iam charged $108.xx.

Is that how Staples usually does the coupon? It happen to me once before and kinda freak me out before I noticed the refund. Everything turned out exactly the same so no harm done.

Call them, although it sometimes happens, it is not their normal procedure to charge you full price and then refund the coupon. If you can check you CC charges online and see that a credit was applied then you're fine, otherwise just call the CSR's and let them fix it.
ss284, I don't think they'll take it with UPC cut out CloneCD works great for me, BTW.
And yes, sometimes Staples charges full price and then give you the coupon value back. However, most of the time I get it with the coupon already included in the price.
Hey guys I am having some problems with my lite-on drive. I can create an image file from a cd. Then I go to create a cd from an image and I run into problems.
1. I choose the image.
2. Hit Next
3. I select write speed to be max
4. I select Write mode to RAW DAO
5. I do not check Simulate Writing
6. I do not check Burn Proof/Just Link
7. I do not check Perform Laser Calibration
8. I DO check Don't repair SubChannel Data
9. I DO check always close last session
10. I hit ok
11. Clone cd looks like it is flushing buffers
12. Clone cd ejects my cd and says the following: Writing to LITE-ON LTR-12101B failed!
Just burned with CloneCd version 2.8.5.2 with no problems. I had burnproof check marked on the Write tab and Write Mode: RAW DAO.
Perfect,readable burn.
