To the extent of my knowledge, Pacific Digital has switched their product to Mitsumi CDRW's.

How can you tell if you're getting a lite-on or a mitsumi? I'll go to my local staples and check everyone they got if its possible to tell from something on the box

you could also get this drive from DELL for $97.XX shipped to CA. after the 10% and 15% off with free shipping.

N/M...just go to pricewatch and if you want the CW058D then just do a search for it...it comes up alot cheaper!

Writing at 32x is the fastest? I thought the 40x just launched to the market.

Just picked one up at my local Staples B&M. They are selling them at the stores for $129.99. I had them pricematch their website and then I convinced them to accept a $20 of $100 code. $85 out the door.

Windows XP recognizes it as a "CyberDrv CW058D CD-R/RW"

Just what I suspected. I have not done any testing yet, since I have to leave for school.

It shouldn't take much convincing at all. They have a specific policy to match their website pricing so they won't have to do the 110% difference.

Look at the first line of the policy.

What software comes in the box? Nero, SimpliCD, or what? This might be a good deal.

Please post any results.

Thanks!
