SCSI is not worth the money in comparison, not by far. SCSI is good if you're running a server, or a business, or just rich and naive. It is insanely LOUD, and runs much much hotter. This two factors give them a lower life expectancy. IDE doesn't run as fast, but is virtually silent in comparison and runs at least 10 degrees cooler under load. Cheapest SCSI hard drive DELL has over 60GB is $600, and is only 10k RPM. You're talking twice the capacity, a fifth of the price, and maybe a 10-15% performance difference. You can easily beat the abilities of a SCSI drive with an array setup. 4 times the capacity, a third of the price, and ~8~20% faster. dohs!
And it's a
one year warranty through Dell.

Hard Drive Installation Guide from Western Digital below is a quick hookup instruction for ya too, in case that link is too much reading.
Assuming you have a standard design......Your primary hard drive has a grey ribbon cable with 3 black connectors (if it only has 2, you can pick up a 3 at radio shack or the like). One goes into the motherboard, the opposite end is plugged into your current hard drive, and you have an empty plug in the center just waiting for your new hard drive Now there's a jumper that needs to be in the slave or cable select position in order for your computer to recognize it. It's a little metal bracket that fits over 2 metal pins. The sticker on the hard drive should tell you which position the bracket/jumper needs to be in for the slave or cable select position. Now, plug the drive into the flat grey ribbon cable, plug in a power cable (a 4 plug cable coming from your power supply with a yellow/black/red wire config). You'll need to fdisk your new hard drive now (set up the hard drive so windows can utilize it). The WD link is pretty elaborate on how this is done, and since i have to be at work in 5 hours and haven't slept.....
