<< I don't understand how this is a great deal. When I do the math, doesn't work out. The monitor is really worth what, $600? Like someone else pointed out this system almost matches the 4400, cept with the 4400 I got a 40 gigger instead of 20 gig hard drive. Only real difference is the 2.0 cpu instead of 1.6
I doubt that RDRAM is that much faster than the DDR in the 4400.
Heh, me thinks that Dell is trying to be smart and make it look like a pricing error, by having the Add 15inch LCD for $400+ and the 17inch LCD for $167 >>
Although I kind of agree with you, i have to say the computer is a good deal because you can sell the parts for more alone. Although the 1.6 to 2.0ghz may not seem like alot performance wise, it does make a big difference on re-sell value. I'm willing to bet someone would pay an extra $150 just for the 400mhz difference. As for the rdram... what is the performace difference from pc2100 to rdram 800mhz?
My bottom line: If you're re-selling this computer its not such a bad deal, but if you're actually gonna use the computer i would rather have gotten the 4400 deal (and I DID!)
