1) Did dell charged your CC?
2) Did your order went into production?

Fight on!!! We need all the hero that we can find!!!
>>

Call Dell
And bitch to them that your business is going to suffer because of the cancelled order. You basically ordered from Dell becoz of its
great customer service, its integrity, that Dell is always offering the "best" deal and Dell always wanted their small business customer happy.
The flexibility that Dell small business makes you very comfortable in dealing with Dell.

But all that has changed since Dell cancelled your order, your business suffers becoz of an unreliable source of services provided by Dell. And
you are now going to recommend all your customer to GATEWAY. For their fast, reliable, not to mention cheap(Althon system they offer) and
definately great customer services.

The way I feel about this deal is that it was killed becoz of the fact alot of people bought multiple system, but thats just my thought. But it could
also have happened the other way round.
At the end of the day if things work your way then Great, If not that just be glad that you might have save yourself some bucks that you may
not have needed in the first place.

Hopefully that will make Dell feel guilty and give it to ya.

Computers are suppose to make your life boundless.
Not the other way round.
Limits are not set by the clockspeed of your computer(at least nowadays)
But by your conciousness of what you are doing at this moment right here right now!!!

3 of my last 4 orders over 3 months have been cancelled by these guys for one reason or another. I am not planning on sueing them or such, but that really is crappy service. It is very inconvenient to think you have ordered something and then cancelled a week or so later. They need to streamline their cancellation policy or not cancel at all. Anyways, I had to gripe.

Free money always helps :Q But an Ebates credit has NO bearing on whether or not your Dell order will ever be completed. Remember, placing an order at Dell is like playing the lottery - you never know when, or if, your order will be filled.

Well, I received a call from Dell and was informed that my order was cancelled. She said that our credit cards were not actually charged, just authorized. Meaning, your balance remained the same, but your authorization limit was reduced by the amount of the sale. I checked my card and everything is back to the correct balance. At any rate, I was disconnected from the rep and tried calling back. After pushing many buttons, I received a message saying that Dell was closed for a "Departmental Meeting" and to try back in an hour. I wonder if the "Departmental Meeting" could have anything to do with this deal??? Probably not!

This is the 4th time Dell has cancelled one of my orders, well actually 3rd. The Radeon 8500 deal, I cancelled after the 5th time they changed my estimated shipping date. I got the impression that they weren't planning on shipping my card until the card was obsolete and worth the price they quoted. At any rate, this is ridiculously bad customer service. Based on my track record with them, not to mention their recent run in w/ the NRA, I will no longer buy anything from these guys after I see this one through. Oh well, I really want that system, so will now mossy on over to Gateway and see what they are offering that is comparable.
I will probably hold off and see if they do the right thing and at least split the difference or make an offer for their screw up. I am extremely doubtful that they will, but I do want this system and plan to see what they are willing to do, if anything.

It?s also funny to me how much BAD press Best Buy received for their GF4 4600 fiasco and I haven?t read a thing about Dell. Good luck to all, please post your results!

OK, so who told Dell I have firearms in my house?

D-E-L-L, the company spawned in H-E-L-L. They suck, they have always sucked, and they always will suck.

No email cancellation.
No phone cancellation.
Order was just cancelled sometime in the past 12 hours.

I'm thinking of getting firearms and demanding my order be filled :Q

Oh well, $50.00 consolation prize from ebates for my trouble If I would have known this was going to happen, I would have ordered 25 systems :Q

My order just got cancelled too. I received order confirmation too. Apparrently the rep I spoke to isnt too bright. I asked to speak to a manager and she keeps telling me that she doesnt have one. I asked to speak to anyone else regarding this and goes on and on about how dell corporation as a entity cannot comment further regarding this issue, It sounds borg like to me. I am currently on hold and trying to see what they can do. Dell has a history of pulling sh*t like this. Other companies honor their F*CK UPS. Dell SAYS A BIG F*CK YOU! Hmm.... maybe this is why they are in buisness still. Who knows. Im just sick and tired of going through this sh*t everytime I want to get a PC at a good deal. I sold my own pc just so I get this brand spanking new dell and a nice lcd. We'll see where I can get with this. I think Dell needs to get there ass in check. Someone should sue the crap out of them. Are there disclaimers even legally binding?
I think an order confirmation and constant updates to their web site indicating computer production and confirmation of shipment date is a valid reason for them to honor this. If it was a typo error they never indicated this on the web site and the order should have taken 1 day to cancel not 3. If anyone wants to sue dell sign me up

The people that have gotten their orders cancelled should not be mad. It was a price mistake.
If that was your store, you would be doing the same thing. Would it make any sense for you to sell
an item and take a loss on it, no it wouldn't because you couldn't stay in business. The people who ordered,
knew it had to have been a mistake and were hoping, with their fingers crossed, that they would get the deal.

You people should study some business courses.

P.S. - I am hopping mad that I didn't get in on this deal.

After spending hour and a half I finally got transferred to a salesperson. go figure. I was offerred the monitor for an additional 300 on top of the original price. Or the Pc without the monitor for 869. Pricing error on the website is not excusable and a lame disclaimer does not excuse them. Basically in the disclaimer they claim all prices on the web site are subjet to change at any given time. Why in the world would anyone order from them then? The last time I had to go through this is when they offerred the SGI 24" monitor at like 239 or something. They forgot the extra 1 and it was printed in the ad I received. They told me too bad back then and they were sorry. This time I received order confirmation and Im pissed. Im writing a letter to dell corp/and the bureau

Can you believe that they have no complaints? Hmm....

The following data concerns complaints processed by the BBB since the firm's file was opened or over the last 36 months, whichever is less. Dell Corporation (Austin BBB) has had no complaints. The company's size, volume of business, and number of transactions may have a bearing on the number of complaints received by the BBB. The complaints filed against a company may not be as important as the type of complaints, and how the company handled them. The BBB generally does not pass judgment on the validity of complaints filed.

The problem is that configuring a system takes at least 5 minutes - this isn't just a click and buy item. Also perhaps a lot of people didn't have accounts with Dell before - they would have to go thru the registration process, set it up and put their credit card in. Dell's database grows, they can 'claim' more customers in their quarterly reports and worst of all is they now have YOUR credit card information in their database.

Coupled with the several confirmation emails, which give a lot of FALSE HOPE.

Finally a lot of people got their cancellation message/notice today which is conveniently after the Dell specials (10%, etc) expire, making an alternative system configuration more costly.

Also I think some people got their orders fulfilled which may make this a case of fulfillment discrimination, especially if its random and not based on order date/time, etc.

let act together and file a formal compliant to your local attorney general and FTC. here is my draft:

I'd like to remind Dell that since Dell accepted my order and charged my charge card, in the eyes of the
[YOUR STATE] Attorney General, it consistutes a contractual obligation. Now backing up without my knowledge is definitely considered as violating this contract. I reserve the rights to ...

"if they make me unhappy, at least I have to let them suffer the same."

my g-2 order got canceled. and both of my 8200 orders got canceled. i placed 2 orders hoping that one will at least go through. oh well, another one bites the dust.

so who's gonna start the class action lawsuit?

I went to Gateway and loaded up a simlar setup and it was about $150 more, but they couldn't tell me about the LCD. I was going to get it, but I think they should at least know the brand. They couldn't even tell me what brand of motherboard. I asked if they could match the free shipping and they said, "No, because our prices are better". Well, they are ... so I've gotta sleep on it. I would like to know the brand name at least. He said their LCD's are either LG or Panasonic, but didn't sound too convincing.

You should study some laws:

Chapter 83.--WEIGHTS AND MEASURES
Article 2.--STANDARDS AND ENFORCEMENT

83-219. Unlawful acts. (a) It shall be unlawful for any owner of a commercial weighing or measuring device:

(16) to charge or attempt to charge, at the time of the sale of an item or commodity, a value which is more than the price which is advertised, posted or quoted;

83-201. Definitions. As used in article 2 of chapter 83 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated and K.S.A. 83-502, and amendments thereto:

(a) "Weights and measures" means all commercial weights or measures of every kind, instruments and devices for weighing and measuring, and any appliance and accessories associated with any or all such instruments and devices and any point-of-sale system.

(l) "Point-of-sale system" means any combination of a cash register or other devices, or system, such as a scanner, capable of recovering stored information related to the price or computing the price of any individual item which is sold or offered for sale at retail. A point-of-sale system may also include or be attached or connected to a weighing or measuring device.

(m) "Scanner" means any electronic system that employs a laser-bar code reader to retrieve product identity, price or other information stored in a computer memory.

The problem is this law is not applicable to internet sales. But if you owned a store in most states (note this is from kansas law) this law would apply.
