Better come up with something, since one pixel does not qualify for a tech defect.

You are correct, but it won't be an exchange then and your new order will be more expensive from the look of it.

Are you sure it is not "a cluster of pixels" or your "LCD blinks in and out" ?!!! just trying to help before you make that first call!

Looks like you might wanna check your fastwrites, and what software your using to watch the video.

Also I've been using the monitor @1920X1200 with UT2004 and still get ~50 fps, and 35fps on DOOM3 timedemo1. One negative is that the size of the screen is a little disorienting, I'm sure I'll get used to it though. On a positive note,I have noticed that running in widescreen does seem to help with picking up enemies in your peripheral that you would have missed.

Good luck everyone still waiting on yours, and everyone who's already got yours - why don't you write what you think of your newest aquisition. I remember that hearing reviews helped to take the edge off while I was waiting for my 2405 to come in. Actually I was pretty surprised by the lack of REAL reviews out on the net.

I noticed that ironically using Window Media Player uses more CPU power than using something else like Zoomplayer to play the file. Zoomplayer just uses the WMV 9 or 10 codec (or filter) to play the file in its own UI. That makes a lot of these files much more playable.

I just confirmed as well, that this deal is dead. The lowest they are willing to sell these for is $925 now.

I'm sure another deal will come along at some point .... it's only a matter of time

I'd take $925 shipped from Dell home any day, but this small business tax thing is crazy.

Mine was just delivered by UPS. This thing is truly *huge*. Makes my 2001fp and 20" Apple Cinema Display seem significantly smaller by comparison. A quick tweak of the gamma settings for my 9800pro and the colors are deep and vibrant. I didn't get the 2005fpw, even at the recent great prices because it didn't have component inputs... but this one has it all

Oh, and I used Dead Pixel Buddy to look for any imprefections... and I couldn't find any

Beat me too Eek, we're using the same vid card so does that mean if you post your gamma settings I can get similar results? Mine should be there when I get home they said it can be as late as 7PM though D-:

I suppose we would, but it's all personal preference, I guess. I have my gamme set to 0.66... made a big difference right away. The rest of the settings (monitor and vid card) are at default.

HD content looks amazing on this, but all other non-hd videos that looked okay before look kinda crappy now Also, there's this really high pitched whine coming from the monitor, and it's beginning to bug the crap out of me. It's kinda like the whine of a tv, but maybe a bit louder... if I don't get used to this soon, I may have a hard decision to make. It's only audible from <24" or so, and most of the time, I'd be that far away, but knowing it's there and occasionally being closer, it might bother me. (and no, it's not one of those ridiculous things where I have to put my ear up against the back of the display to hear the noise)

Fired mine up at lunch today - *ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE*; that's really all I can say. I've been using a high end 22" CRT, and I can't believe how much nicer the 2405fpw is.

I keep hearing about the pitch sound.
Its a good thing my computer is already loud so I don't hear a thing.

I really hope that's the case. After my last post, I called up Dell to have a replacement sent (overnight). I've read other posts on other boards about a whirring noise that you can only hear when up close the the monitor, but I'm not sure if the high pitched whine is normal. I guess I'll compare the two and keep the better one

So besides me and Darstar, does anyone else hear a really high pitched (like a tv) whining noise (besides my usual whining )? (It's most audible at the back of the monitor, but also when seated straight ahead of it and within 24" or so)
