I can't see how you can get a free phone. I selected one of the more common Sprint PCS plans, and it presented me with a list of phones at or above prices you'd pay at Best Buy or anywhere else. It appears you can only get the free phone with certain plans.

It looks to me like every group has some FREE phones. Not all of them are free though.

Monty Burns is right. Only cheap phones are free after opting for a plan. You can get similiar deals at B&M stores too.

wow these are pretty damn good deals. Sprint almost never has discounts on their phones. they only have one discount. And thats 100 dollars off but you have to sign a 2 year contract. which is crazy.

Well, some of the selections may be free with certain plans...
But those plans aren't really hot, or even 'warm' deals.

That kind of kills the deal IMO...

For example...
Plan B2 is closest in $$ to what I'm paying for service currently...

B2=$80
1200 anytime min.
Free Long distance
Free Wireless Web
Free Voice Command

The plan I currently have with Sprint is $75 and includes:
1000 Anytime min.
2000 Night and Weekend min.
Voicemail
Web Mail
3-way calling
Wireless Web
Voice Command

Yes, I had to sign a 1-yr agreement to get all that for that price, however the agreement states that I am under no obligation to have $75 service per month. Only that I agree to have a Sprint account for 1 year. I can downgrade my plan whenever I wish. (only monthly changes are allowed)
(I have adjusted mine several times in the two years I've been with them). I am very happy with Sprint's service.

Just wanted to let you guys/gals know that Sprint offers their own deals like this quite often.
cheers,
Gabe

You can downgrade plans but only to a certain limit. I believe it may be $39.99 as the lowest you can downgrade.

Sprint is a very very very bad cell phone service carrier. I would avoid them like crazy. Lots of drop calls, non-calls, bad reception etc.

Sprint sucked in LA, but it's great in Boston. It all depends on where you are, which applies for any of the wireless carriers.

Don't ya just love it when someone blanketly disses a service because they had bad luck with it? Sprint's fine in NYC and Florida, from my experience. Plus, you get free long distance with many plans vs. the "home area" stuff some plans offer on different carriers.

I get bad reception and I use Sprint PCS (in WA). I think it's just my phone 'cause other people with Sprint are getting reception where I can't. I'm too cheap to get a new phone. Only paying $10 ($12.18 after taxes) for 750 minutes (250 anytime).

The only good phones on this deal is for group B which is $59.99 or more per month.

This deal isn't anything special. SprintPCS offers $100 back with a 2 year contract. That's what makes the cheaper phones "free". The only benefit I see from buying there is the free activation that normally costs $35. Of course local stores (BestBuy, Circuit City, etc.) regularly have other bonuses putting them on the same level with this deal. I saw one, right after I bought my phone, for $100 back from Sprint and $50 back from the local store, that was with the 2-yr agreement, like the deal mentioned above.
As to problems with SprintPCS service. I've had my phone for three months now. In that time I've made calls in Houston, New Orleans, Newark, and Princeton NJ. I've only had three drops, two of them while inside buildings. The main problem as I see it is their 'Roaming' condition. If you are in a SprintPCS digital area, but your phone has a stronger signal to an analog antenna, your phone will go on roaming and your will be charged for using it. The only options are to switch to digital only, or carefully check to make sure you're not on roam before using your phone.

DM.

Sprint works great for me. Never had any problem with coverage & I've used it in 6 states from Hawwaii to LA to New Jersey.

Even worked when I was in Hawaii (only covered 1/2 the islands I was on), but that was alot better then I though, & it worked at the airport & the condo's I stayed at, which was what really mattered.

<< Sprint PCS sucks horribly. It's not worth it, even for FREE. >>

Never had a problem with it... used it in NY, CT, RI, MA, OH, IL, MI with no major problems. Have had it since like '98.
