Original Thread

Previously, the 32" Sony W(V)ega TVs were depleted @ 800.Com. However, it looks like those who missed out are going to be spared in the 11th hour, because both the non-Picture in Picture model and the Picture in Picture models are back in stock.

Please remember that these amazing prices include a 10% large screen discount @ 800.Com - which ends today (11/22/2000) and the 20% MSN Passport discount. Mine came out to $709 (shipped) for the non-PIP model and before the additional E-bates rebate.

Go get 'em - but you can't have mine because it's already in my shopping cart.

Don't worry about not getting the PIP option. Put the $100 towards something else ... like a new DVD player ... or a sub-woofer.

Your method seems correct: Go through MSN Passport to 800.Com and get all the way through until the point where you'd finalize your order. Then, open a second window and go through Ebates.Com to 800.Com. Within the E-bates window, click on the shopping cart button. Your shopping cart should appear without the MSN Passport discount. Click on the Passport Express Checkout button to recalculate your order. Then, complete your order. Once the order has been finalized, close your original window - rather than finalizing the original transaction that you initiated via the MSN Passport site.

I successfully processed two separate checkouts via this method this evening. Good luck!!!

It worked for me, too!

10% Large Screens + 20% MSN + 5% CitiCard + 5% eBates!!

I must have gotten the last 32" w/ PIP - Sorry, dude!
I completed my order around the time you posted!!

Good luck!

This is only good (at least the 10% large screen) until midnight!
Go with the one without the PIP and save $100.

Thanks wje
You had the best directions and it worked.
To bad it was not a few minutes earlier.
I got the non pip.
I am one of the few who would realy use the pip a lot but I figured the 32 would be better than the 27 pip.

How did you get yours for 709.00?
I had to pay 739.00.
The 30 off is no good anymore.

I hate you vh200

I really am sorry man!

When you're stuffing yourself with turkey dinner tomorrow,
make sure to take the last one of something!
It might make you feel a little better!

I don't know if I would pay $100 extra for PIP, but I for one like having it on my TV. It is darn handy when you want to keep track of two channels at once, like different sports events. I also used it on election night to switch between channels when they went to commercial.

I used the method described by wje. When will my rebate (via ebates) get posted? Just wondering if it works or not.

Since they implmenented their new method of tracking what you buy, I haven't got a since transaction counted toward my ebates. Before I just used my ebates email and it worked.

According to the E-bates site, transactions could take a bit of time to appear.

Here is a quote from their site:

<< Rebates can take up to 1 month after purchase to appear in your account. >>

I found this information under the "orders summary" section.

Oh, I was able to get mine for $709 because I was able to utilize the $30 off coupon. I added the coupon to my coupon book @ 800.Com during this past weekend.

Also, in the other thread, I suggested that people should just head to Sears so that they could get a price match on an item against an Internet vendor. Well, earlier this evening (before purchasing the Vega), I stopped by Sears. The salesperson was quite informative in regards to thier price matching policy. Sears will price match Internet vendors, but they will also add the shipping into the price and any state sales taxes on top of that amount. There is very little incentive to utilize this method of price matching ... unless you need the item right away and can't wait for it to ship. Also, the salesperson indicated that they did not add the shipping charges in until recently. Additionally, I inquired about the 10% off when using the Sears card. He informed me that the 10% discount would not be given on items that were price matched. All in all, I learned quite a bit about their policy - but I don't think I'll try to use them for any price matches in the future.

I spent an hour refreshing the screen hoping the pip would show up again.
During that time I agonized over weather I should get the 27pip of the 32 non pip.
Well you see what I went with.
Only problem now is I will be watching it on the floor for a while LOL.
What kind of stand to get? hmmm

Don't worry vh2000 I am not mad just jealous.

800.Com messed up on my order. I was reading through the E-mail confirmations and found a problem.

Earlier, I placed an order for my TV (and captured the HTML of the final screen showing all of the information). Then, about 20 minutes later, I placed a 2nd order for a DVD player. During the order for the DVD player, I changed the "ship to" information because I wanted it to go to my brother-in-law in Florida (I live in Virginia). Again, I haved the HTML of the final screen. 800.Com's database took the "ship to" information from the DVD order and also applied it to my earlier Vega order. The information on the TV has already been sent to the shipper. 800.Com will try to get this resolved for my 1st thing on Friday morning - let's see how they do.

Meanwhile, if the 32" Vega lands in Florida, it looks like I'll be SOL.

Way to go people that got in on the deal at the last minute!!! Oh and it's not an extra $100 for the PIP model, don't forget we take the % OFF discounts off that $100 also! For $60 it's worth it, there are almost always 2 different sporting events I want to watch at the same time and I HATE commericals.

WJE - I hope they straighten out your shipping address for you, because I would HATE to find out how much an individual would have to pay to ship this BEAST! lol

I was hoping I would be watching movies all 4 day weekend with my WEGA, but I don't get it until Monday, I called Eagle Freight this morning.

Well, I don't know whether to be upset or happy. On the one hand, by not reading this until now I won't get that really nice 32" Superflay Panasonic with PIP for under 750..on the other hand, thats another 750 in electronics I don't have on my cc..hehe.

geoffkin: I've never had PIP (let alone 2 tuner PIP). I figure you may know this, do you jiust use a cable splitter and run the signal to both tuners?

You still might be able to. I've found a few sites that sell the Panasonic Super Flat 32" TV for $799. Try to have 800.Com do a price match and then try to apply the 20% MSN Passport incentives.

geoffkin,

I believe the PIP ($100 more) would come out to $70 more after discount. 10% + 20% = 30% off. Before someone flames me, 800.com takes each discount off the full price and not after previous discount.

To me, the extra $70 was not worth the 2 tuner PIP. For some, it is, just not for me. BTW, it seems like all brands charge about $100 more for teh 2 tuner PIP.

OMG, my status on my order page says SHIPPED. Is this possible? I ordered it last night. As I said before in other thread, this is VERY STRANGE. At this weirdness, it might show up on my door steps tomorrow.

I too jumped in last night at about 11pm central (talk about close ). Got the KV32FS12 for 689.92 shipped and hopefully ebates will also come through for another 35. This is my first time using ebates, beside accessing the web site through them is there anything else I am supposed to do? Their banner was on top of the page when I submitted my purchase but other than that I saw nothing else.

Now I've got to go and spend another 150 on a stand. This board is breaking me. This past week as been really bad.

Sony Wega 689 -35?
KSD 195TF 332
256mb RAM 95
12x Toshiba DVD 87

must step away from this board.

For those that got their order in on November 22nd, it looks like we have a $50 gift check according to this promotion: $50 Gift Check

I did not see anything on my shopping cart page as mentioned on the special offer page.... I'll have to check with a CSR.

Wow 50.00 gift check, I did not see that last night.
Cool that makes up for the loss of the 30.00 off coupon.
Don't forget the free 20 blockbuster rentals.

How was this possible? I'm assuming that you're not including the E-bates rebate at this point.

It went like this:

Original price 999.95 plus 39.95 shipping = 1039.90
20% passport 199.99
10% large tube 100.00
5% using Citibank card 50.00

Total discounts 349.98

Total charged 689.92

on another note. I now kind of whish I had gotten the samsung 53" projection TV. It costs about 400 more and don't need to buy a stand (which adds another 150 do my price of the wega). However it's out of stock. They do have a Toshiba 50" projection TV in stock for 1499.00 before discounts. What do you guys thing about projection TVs?
