You're right about resale value, though. I've seen 1200s that were nearly 20 years old sell for $250. Built to last forever...

The deal was dead in less than 2weeks....No mind you, NWL has never been able to clear anything out of its stores that quick! Thanks to AT, most of the Players were gone in about two weeks.....
I still See that NOBODY THinks the Aiwa CD/VCD/DVD Dolby-Logic(Fiber-Audio out) is The best Deal for this year - by my standards, it is.....JUST ASK MY NEIGHBORS that live upstairs and the ones that live next door(now mind you, the woofers are on the floor and i live in the lowest level -1 level in the apartment).....

The Western Digital 120GB hard drive for $111 from CompUSA after tax and rebates probably tops my list. I just picked up a Compaq Ipaq 3635 yesterday for like $180 after tax and rebates from Staples, that's pretty hot. And let's not forget the free CD-RW, CD's, software, and memory from Staples with the purchase of Windows XP. I think I paid $68 after coupons and rebates. I would put the $1 NIC's from Dell on the list, but apparently I won't see them until Feb 2002

my deal of the year: free HP 315 digital camera. bought camera + hp 1115 printer for $300 from dell. $100 rebate and sold printer on ebay for $200.

my personal deal of the year: finding out that costco sells USB A-B cables for $6 + bonus USB extension cable. these go for $20 anywhere else.

deals of the century: vitamins.com $10 off $10 and free shipping (credit card bill had 4 pages of $0.01 charges) and staples dividend coupons fiasco (free palm Vs, desks, computers, et cetera)

How about the shower gel deal ?

I forgot where it was from, but I remember I got 3 5-gallon buckets of the stuff for $16 total (including shipping).

There were others who ordered the 55 gallon version of the stuff for around $36 shipped and actually received it.

Someone even posted a picture of the 55 gallon drum with their son standing next to it or on top of it.

I use the gel, but find I have to mix it with some cheap stuff - like Suave, to get a good lather out of it - but for a buck a gallon - who's complainin ?

Personally, I was going to nominate the AMD extreme performance tour just because I scored a falcon northwest box. Then I saw the thread in OT about the attempted American Airlines bombing and changed my nomination to the A$$ kicking the Taliban has received recently. I don't even know how much it's costing the U.S. but I think it's a pretty hot deal.
