The Nomad Jukebox at bluelight is what got me hooked on this site. I was not one of the lucky ones who got in on it, but the thrill of the hunt (for good deals) has been fun.

Don't forget about the Planar 18.1" LCD Monitor from Dell. I got my white model for $650 delivered. The red, blue and clear models went for over twice that.

OfficeMax had good deals on Win XP Pro. For $199 +$50 you got Win XP Pro upgrade, HP 2200 scanner, Liteon 16x10x40 CDRW, McAfee AV, a cheap web camera, and a 256 meg PC100 Stick of RAM. Now, throw in a $50 off coupon, a $50 rebate for the extra stuff and a Microsoft $50 rebate and it all comes in for $99. OfficeMax's deal for Office XP Pro was good too...

my vote- the Gateway 6400, mine was over $500 , but well worth it, one stable machine,
no matter how much I upgrade it and throw stuff at it, it can still play counterstrike

Were the .01 attache bags from Staples this year? That was my favorite deal simply due to the hillariousness of it (I gave EVERYONE one of them things heheheeh). Also, the Windows XP kit for $52 shipped was pretty hot. Runner up would be the $99 GF3 card from Best Buy over Thanksgiving.

in my opinion, that was the greatest deal of the year purely for the EAST COAST..... EAST COAST DEAL OF THE YEAR = AIWA CX-NDV526 DVD/CD/VCD Player at NWL for $169 which retailed for about $600....and No, you can't even find these @CC, BB, or any retialers unless you go specifically to Audio retailers...Thanks again fritzo...

I'm sure no one is going to agree with this, but here goes:

My deal of the year? My upcoming Technics SL-1200 mk2 turntable. Ask anyone who knows anything about these things. They are $450 at ROCK BOTTOM prices. These things DO NOT depreciate as they get older (i.e. a used one that is 4 years old is STILL $450 if you're LUCKY). Contrast this with some digital camera that you buy now; in three years it will be worthless.

So, I bought one of these bad boys for $625 from Crutchfield. Pricematch to etronics.com for $450. Subtract the $100 for MSN rebate, and you get $350. Ask ANY DJ if he's ever seen one of these for that much. They'll tell you you're on crack. If I had my own amex blue, I would have bought another (as many as I could afford) and sold them on e-bay for a minimum $100 profit.

So, it's not about how much you save, it's about how much you can. Digital cameras, CPUs...these things all go on sale. 1200s? Never. So there you go.
