The best deal that I actualy got in on was the D-link 4-port 10/100 router for $19 after two $30 rebates.

runner up I guess is the CD-r's that I got for $.05/each

The -$1.00 NICs would be a pretty good deal if dell hadn't delayed my order until Feburary of 2k2! :frown:

Best deal IMHO was the $99 Plextor (Iomega ZIPCD) 12x10x32 burner. That single deal ended up sprouting over 20 Hot Deal threads, was talked about for over a month even though it only last about 1 week (some people did web orders), and the price was unbelievable because the Plextor of the same speed was running about $200 at the time.

I remember the hours everybody was trying to figure out how to flash it so the string would say Plextor at boot. This single deal probably gave people who never had CD-RWs an entry into the burning world, and was my first upgrade from my Yamaha 4x2x6 SCSI that cost me $650.

I guess the Black Friday GF and HD were also a big hit. I ended up scoring a couple HDs, but I wouldn't say it was the DOTY because right after that many more HD deals popped up giving 2GB/$1.

The best/worst deal as far as excitement was probably the Logitech Z560s. I was waiting for mine like that kid in Christmas story. Not under 1/2 street cost, but great deal nonetheless.

I think the single best deal that most people missed was the 60GB 7.2K WD HD at BB for $129-10% with 75GC. I missed this deal directly, but hopefully AmEx will help me out

We still have 12 days until the year closes. Let's see if CrapUSA pulls something like last year drool......

I also vote for the Gateway 6400 deal. I didn't have need (or space) for a server but if I did, that would've been a heck of an offer to jump on and something that would've kept me up at nights if I didn't!

I say the Gateway Servers #1. How many of us got 1-5 of those beasts? We got them down to $305 each WITH warranty!

A good deal is all the Dell specials, desktops, 20% off, etc... Man, that was like every week. I got a P4 machine loaded for just over $500. That is SWEET!

The Staples Make $15 on printer / Scanner deals are good, especially if you have 1-3 addresses.

My favorite was the Intel Camera deal at Dell. $49.99-$40.00 from Dell, -$30.00 from Intel, free shipping - 20%, AND no limit. I got 20 of these bad boys and made almost $300 in the process. Guess what everyone is getting for Christmas? Bingo!

I just started this HOT DEAL thing in AUG. this year so I missed a lot. My best deals this year

1. Free after rebate Motorola Talkabout T6300 radios at OD. I got three.

2. $125 Staples Black Friday Palm Vx with GPS and accys deal. Totaled over $400. Still awaiting my GPS rebate.

3. $10 42 bit Visioneer 4800 scanner after $20 coupon and $40 rebate at OD. Hey! I needed one and this worked out great.

4. $30 Viewsonic A70 17" Monitor at OD after $30 coupon, and 40 rebate.

I have to go w/ the free $130 in flooz, since I spent it almost immediately (I got in before the stopped accepting at Barnes & Noble). $130 for no effort since the answers were available online? Sweet.
Also mention the XP deals at Staples (digi cam although I'm waiting on my rebate) and BB (again waiting for the rebates still). I'll net about $250 if everything comes as it should since i wasn't dumb enough to install XP, and sold the two copies for around $85. The router sold for about $50 (pure profit after rebates) and the Rio for $50. The camera bundle I sold for about $150. Pretty sweet.

how about the lexmark printers at bestbuy that were $80 on sale for $60 with a $40 rebate, but best buy screwed it up and made the $20 with a $40 rebate and free shipping? i bought a sihtload of those for $20, sold them on ebay for $50, and collected $40 rebates on each one. i think i made a couple of hundred of dollars of that pretty easy.

i vote for the xp giveaway. don't act like it wasn't a flaming deal... i know people in at least 15 cities were watching that website every other night to make sure they didn't miss it. anyone who won would agree that it was a deal... i personally felt bad though... only upgraded a few hundred mhz... i know a few people who would've increased by more than a ghz...well, maybe i don't feel that bad... this baby rocks!
also, how about the compaq 19" from cdw for ~$315 shipped? maybe not incinerating, but a real solid legit deal.
there also was that lcd monitor deal thread that was ridiculously long... can't believe people would wait 4 months for a monitor... thats perseverance...

lastly, i know this was minimal but i have to say, the packard bell remote deal was darn good. the remote itself isnt' that great but the ir receiver works with anything, so i have my minisystem remote pretty much controlling everything... <$10 for that... man i didn't know what i was missing... i can turn off my system, my video, mute, change tracks or videos on winamp, launch applications...all from bed... how freaking awesome...

Still kicking myself for missing out on the Netbank deal. That has to be by far the biggest deal of the year. I mean, how do you compare saving $100 on a GF3 card so you can see a few million extra polygons to saving $200,000 on your home loan?
