Yesterday, I grabbed the HP 1115 & 612 for $315 out the door at OD. I will get the $100 rebate, and flea both of them, hopefully with $200+ in my pocket. I also love my 17" compaq monitor which I got with $5 in my pocket and the 15" which I got with $25 in my pocket. Then there was the XP/Fuji, etc., $225 out the door with Staples coupons, Fleaed them all for $295, then got my $200 rebate, net $270 in my pocket, and of course, the list goes on. Thanks to all you wonderful folks and our sharing of these deals which seem to rule my life!!!PEACE ON EARTH

<< I'm sure no one is going to agree with this, but here goes:

My deal of the year? My upcoming Technics SL-1200 mk2 turntable. Ask anyone who knows anything about these things. They are $450 at ROCK BOTTOM prices. These things DO NOT depreciate as they get older (i.e. a used one that is 4 years old is STILL $450 if you're LUCKY). Contrast this with some digital camera that you buy now; in three years it will be worthless.

So, I bought one of these bad boys for $625 from Crutchfield. Pricematch to etronics.com for $450. Subtract the $100 for MSN rebate, and you get $350. Ask ANY DJ if he's ever seen one of these for that much. They'll tell you you're on crack. If I had my own amex blue, I would have bought another (as many as I could afford) and sold them on e-bay for a minimum $100 profit.

So, it's not about how much you save, it's about how much you can. Digital cameras, CPUs...these things all go on sale. 1200s? Never. So there you go.

(and besides...DJs get chicks!)
>>

WOW! I wish I got on that deal when I bought mine. I think I spent ~ $800 for mine and I bought them used off eBay. I think you can get 1 at Guitar center during their 50% off list sale for 400, but that's only one, that you have to use the 50% off list coupon for.

Most of the time though, you pay between $450 and $499 for them.

I didn't really get super hot deal last year.

This year was lean compared to last year when I got Free printers, postage and all sorts of cool stuff.

"There will be 7 good years followed by 7 lean years:

So, I guess I have to nominate the two deals I got in on:

1) Gateway 6400 server deal - I mean a $1000 machine for $300? That is too sweet

2) WD 120GB 7200RPM drive for $100 from CompUSA PM w/ Staples and after $!00 rebate. I don't know if a lot of people got in this on this one, but I am glad I did

The HP CD-Writer DVD Combo 9900 was a good deal from Dell at $8 probably gets my vote.

The $52 Windows XP deal was good as well as was the free Sprint modem and the Burbie PC for my
2 1/2 year old little girl.

Bottom line, this is a fun place to visit but it's really hard to explain it to my wife.... "But honey, we are saving a lot of money buying this stuff"

RT314 was pretty cool,
Siemens phones a useful tool,
Olympus D510 Camera a pleasant buy,
Windows XP, ecstatic sigh,
Intel Pro cameras way to go
but JokerSmoker's Humvee was best you know!

Being poor as a result of the Hot Deals forum . . . . we all know how that feels . . .long may it last!

Sorry about that - I made a boo-boo and corrected it quickly but not before you replied...$20.25 was my Ebates rebate amount. I double-checked the numbers and the net cost of the camera is $64.78 after all discounts, etc.

Of course these were ones I actually got in on:
- the HP/Rio CDRW and MP3 combo that many made profit off eBay on (or sold one to keep the other)
- Windows XP Excitement Pack
- $199 iPaq 3635 (nice upgrade to my $250 after MIR Prism from last year)
- Staples Windows XP deals
- Sprint PCS wireless card (althrough I have yet to get mine working)
- $238 15" KDS LCD at OD
- cheap Digital Soundblaster soundworks speakers after rebate at Staples
- $50 (2x) free Gift cards to Al and Eds Autosound which netted me a free pair of nice car speakers
- CompUSA deal with wireless mouse/keyboard desktop set free after rebate
- $15 Intel Pocket camera after rebate from Dell

My personal favorite a Lexmark E210 laser printer with free two year replacement warranty for $35 (not including $30 gift check) after pricematch, coupon, gift check, dividends check, and tax.

Without a doubt, the AMD Extreme Performance giveaway. I am sitting here right now with an AthlonXP 1800+ and Gigabyte mb that I have already tweaked from reading the other AT forums, that moved me up from a k62-450. Thanks AT and AMD!

I vote for the Windows XP Channel Excitement Kit for $40

But I have to say, I would have given my left nut for that SGI 1600SW refurb for $600

deals this year were terrible(compared to 99), imho - just because i didn't have the money for stuff 300 bucks and up

personally i've been burned by a lot of rebates, and staples pricematches hardly worked

so: iPaq 3150 for $77 @ubid w/ 2 rebates. Best deal of the year
