ScrapSilicon - Actually Grand Nagus would be sufficient but seriously MysticMan1 is 100% Elite material!

FatHairyCat - That HP D135 deal definitely belongs on the list.

sat4fun - I'm so glad that I got in on that, sold the 15" LCD for $250 lowering my final cost even more ... in fact I should have bought TWO 4550's and sold the 15" LCD's for $250 each, dayum! Repeat after me, you snooze, you lose.

One more to add to the list

!!!! Microsoft Windows XP Pro FULL & LEGAL version for $48 shipped !!!!

My personal favorites (because I got in on them):

Staples:
PhoneMate 2.4GHz cordless phone w. caller id
$23.50 - $20 MIR - $10 MIR =
$5 in pocket and a phone.

Staples:
Cendyne 32x12x40 CD-RW
$39.50 - $50 MIR =
$8 in pocket and a CD-RW.

OfficeMax:
Cendyne 16x40 DVD-ROM
$44.99 - $25 MIR - $20 MIR =
free DVD-ROM drive.

I haven't seen a check yet, but I received email confirmation of approval for all but one of those rebates so far.
And I have AnandTech to thank for it all.

Any other recommendations?

Yep this gets my vote although the $16.94 (tax and all) after rebate Maxtor hard disk was a good one too

1 of the hottest deals that I was most envious of was the super cheap Dell Dimension deal for a rediculous amount of money (under $100 after rebate shipped), but only offered to students or teachers. I wanted that deal bad!!! I don't know if I'd vote that one the hottest deal though because it was so limited on who could get in on it.

A few of the more memorable for me were:

[*]$50 WD1200JB 8 MB cache drive after PM and rebate to CUSA from Microcenter.
[*]$20 WD1200BB 2 MB cache drive after PM and rebate to BB from Microcenter.
[*]50% off all Linksys networking gear on OD closeout
[*]+$17 AR DDR266 PNY 256MB DDR RAM at OD.
[*]$10 40 GB Maxtor ATA133 drives after coupon and rebate at OD.
[*]$20 Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical set after PM to BB after rebate from BB.
[*]$3.99 PNY DDR333/DDR266 RAM PM from CUSA to CC after rebate.
[*]$13.99 PNY DDR333/DDR266 RAM PM from CUSA to BB after rebate.
[*]$25 Logitech Cordless Elite Desktop after coupon and rebate at Buy.com
[*]$40 Amazon gift certificate for the Memory SODIMM price mistake. Bought a TBSC retail for .01¢ shipped, no tax with that gift certificate and coupon.
[*]All those damn sub $20 Cendyne burners after rebate.
[*]plenty of free cdr's after rebate. I'm swimmin' in them.
[*]Numerous Dell system deals.. Too many to keep track of.
[*]Sub $50 shipped Windows XP Pro Go Pro! kit. Last years deal was even hotter though with a full retail box of Windows XP Pro. This year was the full version software, it just came in a "not for resale" cardboard sleeve.
[*]$69.99 XP2000+ OEM from Outpost. It was a really hot deal at the time.
[*]$100 shipped from Dell Logitech Z560's when they first came out, though it might technically be last years deal by a few days.

Too many more to mention. This is just what I can remember off the top of my head.

Sal

Dammit, another deal I passed on. The nagging wife is a teacher and I would have had to wake her up to get her ID number on this one.

Some of these lists above are definitely some ultra hot deals.

My best this year have been just a few.

The $150 citibank checking, and $50 INGdirect for opening up checking accts (though I hear this affects your credit ratings...)

More recently, save nearly $500 off a dell optiplex with 19" lcd panel. (20% disco, free shipping, and some other discount i can't remember)
In addition to this, $100 off after the monitor went down in price (1900fp). So that was a killer deal.. 3 yr onsite warr, etc etc.

Also, thanks to the buy.com ad magazine, the maxtor 160 gb 7200rpm 8mb ata133 drive for $112 (net cost).

I will truely miss BVG!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP

lots of staples deals and rebates on HD's and other storage devices.

Most importantly, hats off to anandtech and FW and to those that post these deals!

From the looks of things, pricing in the upcoming year will be less 'promotional' since it seems everything is going up in price.
We'll have to find ways of staying on the edge.

Thanks !!!!

COLDEST DEAL OF THE YEAR - CyberWings CEO Shawn J White
My vote would have to go to those businesses threatening lawsuits for posting Black Friday sales ads. 1 guy even got fired from his job at CC for posting information here.

So-o-o-o-o-o-o many deals I passed on ...

How about free TDK 50-pack 40x CD-R disks + $7.00 in the pocket (at CC after PM to KMart and $10 + $7 rebates). I know it was a small savings but shows the amazing power of price matching and rebates.

How do these retailers manage to stay in business?

EDIT: my 200 post!

Im seriously doubting that Dell will honor all of those rebates. Good luck to those of you who got in on it, but Im just a tad pessimistic.

Nope, believe it or not all the Hot Deals I listed were from memory ... damn I am hopelessly addicted, there is no hope for me unless of course I move down under.

Netgear MR814 Wireless 802.11b router & Logitech Clicksmart 310 digi/webcam for $5 AR
USR 802.11b PCMCIA card for FREE AR

It only cost $5 after rebate for me to be able to surf the web while I'm sitting on the can

I think they both deserve that prestiguous title.

My hats off to Tim @ FW for standing up to Walmart though!!!

If I get my rebates, the Dell 8250 will definitely take the crown.

They cancelled my order (@#%@#%) but anyone who actually got the PNY Ti4600 back in February (or was it March) for $129.99 instead of $399.99 made out like a villain.

I'll go ahead and put in a vote for the Best Buy:Microcenter PM for the Western Digital 120GB 2MB for $40 AR that I sold installed for $150 too '-'.
