It only cost $5 after rebate for me to be able to surf the web while I'm sitting on the can

$4.95 after MIR and Coupon.

There was also that South Park Season 1 DVD for $9.99. Not Deal of the Year, but almost everyone who ordered got their copy, so thats pretty good...

Logitech Z560 @$109.97 (Dell)

South Park Season One @$9.99 (Mediaplay)

WD 120GB SE HDD @$70-ish (Dell again)

Not quite the hot year we've had in the past couple of years--they seem to be harder to come by these days--but some great finds nonetheless. Thanks to EVERYONE who contributed, and Happy Holidays to all AnandTech HotDealers !!

1.Dell 4550 w/ 15" LCD
2.PC2100 256 @ OfficeDepot that we got paid to buy.
3.HP 3 in one PSC 750 for 35.00 @ staples after PM w/OM and MIR from HP directly(big THANKS to SCRAP for pointing that one out)
4.amd xp1700 + m7mia mb from tcwo $130, way back in feb (was that this year, I was running a 1700 then??)

Seriously though I think the hottest deal for me was finding out that SCRAPSILICON the king of all that is MEATLOAF lives in my town.
Now I have a fellow loser geek to annoy my wife with HD and tech jargon as well as RETAIL store employee's!
How many of you have someone getting your back when you are trying to pulloff some of these deals? He's my enforcer..

***I don't think the recent dell deal would qualify, or the dell WD 120GB SE since we aren't going to know for sure until after the new year if our rebates come through.

It's too early to nominate anything... the best deal of the year is yet to come! And it's gonna be HUGE...

My vote for the Dell 8250 also. Of course, I am sure enjoying my XM radio now for <$50 with car and home adapter (if rebates come through)

Perhaps the best deal is a understanding wife who withstands me having 6 computers sitting around getting built with all these great deals!!

I agree with RossMan, I am addicted also.... Got in trouble at work for buying 12 Dell X5 for staff. They were $199 - 50 rebate and just couldn't wait for purchasing to try to get for our department

Maybe I am in the wrong profession....

Anyhow, Everyone have a great Christmas and look forward to another great year!!!

Seems like I missed out many of the good deals.

Here are what the best that I got:

$200 17" LCD from Dell price mistake ...and yes, I actually got the monitor and sold out the computer.
$500 notebook from Bestbuy ...just send out the rebates, but no reasons why I should think the rebates aren't coming in.
$200 Dell 8250... the just send out the rebates, right the rebates are not as solid, but still a good deal.

My votes go for:

HP1610 laptop for about $520 after rebates at Staples
Onkyo TX-SR600 reciever for $299 at Circuit City plus MSN rebates and some got $60 in gift cards too.

It was another good year overall.

You guys are missing the big picture - we saved WAY more money on the Honda Accord closeout - and lots of people jumped on this too.....

(I think it is the only hot deal that even worked out for me!)

My vote goes for free microsoft software from my college:
Win XP, Office Pro, etc, all for free.
(well, almost free... I did have a technology fee added to my bill)
But... I can deduct the bill from my taxes!

The Honda Accord clearance is still going on but good luck finding any 2002 models still in stock at your local Honda dealership. 2002 Honda Accord SE Hot Deals thread, I paid $17,244 for my brand new Special Edition it retails for $19,500 so I saved at least $2,500 below dealer invoice ... you gotta love those loss leader ads

<BLOCKQUOTE dir=ltr style="MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px">Some may consider this lame, but I picked up a half a dozen WD 80GB drives over the course of the year, all with fat rebates ($50-$100) and a BVG to the lowest pricewatch price I could find. Seems like I paid almost zero for most of them . . . Never more than $.33/GB!

The $99 AR Geforce4 Ti200 64MB at BB a couple of months ago was also sweet (And yes, this was a PNY 64MB version for $129-$30 rebate. It was an unadvertised deal at Best Buy).

I also picked up a half dozen CDRW drives of various speed, never paying more than $30 AR (usually $20 AR).

The Compaq FS740 17" monitor for $50 AR with the Compaq Spring Rebate Deal. Not the best monitor, but gave it away as a gift and the recipient thinks I am the most generous guy on Earth!

In February, scored two Lexar 12X CF cards for $39 each AR and PM (not a hot price now, but great for my Minolta Dimage 5, whiched I purchased from Amazon in February and quickly did a BVG for $246).

Plus I picked up a few WinXP Pro for under $50 each (thank you Sunshine Marketing and Microsoft).

Quite a few sticks of Kingston 256MB PC133 for $0-$10 AR (for upgrading relatives PC's).

Don't forget the NSW 2003 for $0 AR from Amazon.

The Sony DRU500A for $253+tax is still feeling pretty good.

Pinnacle Studio Version 8 for $10 AR from Outpost was a great deal.

How about 10 Memorex DVD+RW discs for $8 on Black Friday AR and BVG?

My brother-in-law gets a Maxtor 30GB 7200 RPM drive for Christmas courtesy of Microcenter ($30AR). Might have been able to do better but time was of the essense.

Last, but not least, I appreciated the shipped price of $.67 each for Dlink 10/100 NIC's from Dell. I only ordered a half dozen, wasn't too greedy. I see that some people got them even cheaper! Have you no shame?

The list goes on and on.

The best deal I got for the whole year was maxing out my Amex Gold BVG at $1000! Can't wait for the new year to start.

All in all, a pretty good year! Keep up the good work.

I have 2 suggestions:

Amazon.com Audiovox Portable DVD Player for $127 shipped was definitely one of the hottest of the year.

Another good one was getting paid $40 to take 200 Phillips CDRs from Staples AR

A few deals I liked
HP ze1210 at staples for $530 after MIR including tax $480 before tax
32x burner from staples $40 - $10 off $40 - $50 MIR = $20 in pocket
Nec 15" LCD monitor on BF at staples for $130
Free DVD drives at Omax
Free 512 mb of ram from staples
being able to order computer parts at staples via ingram micro and PM and use coupon (ending soon dangit)
$5 for stick of 256 mb of DDR from staples or cc after MIR's
the dell 8250 was definitely a hot one didn't take advantage of it though $700 in MIR was just too much, kinda wish i did now though, for the dell 4550's with LCD I don't think that deal was that hot, but just my opinion

yeah but not sure if the DRU500A qualifies for this year ...me and many others most likely won't get it till next year. I got the TI4200 Visiontek for $235 back in March/April. Prices are still around this price just about for any Ti4400 out there.

I also got an IBM 80GB 7200rpm for $73 free shipping no tax from Dell about 3 months ago. Deal only lasted two days I think. Even now that's a good price.

1. $0.99 RAM from Amazon which they didn't send but gave you a $40 certificate/code instead
2. Walmart's Unreal II for $18
3. Office Depot's totally legit $20 off $50 coupon that came out just in time for OfficeMax's 40x CD-RWs at $50 with a $30 rebate (thus free with the $20 coupon -- good thinking Office Depot)
4. All those free and under-$10 CD-RW's from OfficeMax
5. NewEgg refurbs!
