Gotta go with the Dell 8250...I'm on the family computer as I type, and it's fast, it's quiet, it's cheap. Can't do much better than that.

I totally forgot about the MS deals.

I got in on that $40+ w/ BobbleHead (MY EX-Gf said I looked like it too. She's gone now.)
How about the Free XP Pro CD and Visual Studio.NET Academic @ VS.NET Launch Events.

That was hot.

I also got a Free Visioneer Paperport 8100 Scanner ($80 Rebate from Staples).

Dixiesys?

I feel sorry for whoever sorts this thread. Is it gonna be a poll?

My 6 Logitech Keyboards, free.

Free is better than a dell deal, regardless of how cheap it was.

Just no reason for an attack on Rossman like that. This along with most of your other posts are just plain outrageous.

Dell 4550, the 19" LCDS from Dell, BB 120gb 8mb drives for $99, the Go Pro kit from MS for $50, and all the deals where you got paid to buy something.

The best deal I had was the Compaq FS740 monitor. Originally $449. at Sears eventually dropped to $149 and because the box was opened dropped to $100 and that Saturday was 10 per cent off for a final price of $90. Rebate $150 so I was paid $60 to take it home. Flat Screen 17" works and looks great. Found the $149 price and the $150 rebate here at Anandtech!!

Hmm, lets see what damage I've done this year

120gig WD SE drives at dell
This 9.98$ after MIR office chair I'm using right now from office depot
Free wireless combo from logitech (when it comes)
$50 free from ING direct
Various freebies from test drives
XP Pro kit for 39.99 + shipping.
Loads of free after MIR CD-R's.
Those great staples sub $25 cd-rw drives.
Columbia House DVD buy 3 for $22 with nothing else to buy

And good old cyberwings, honorable mention. Best .... $2.90 I spent for so much entertainment factor. Not that I needed the hosting, but watching everyone get sucked in, buying many accounts, then suddenly finding out they were out cold. Then people on both sides of the issue, the nay-sayers and the supporters. It was surely a great few months of hilarous events.

Got in on a few good deals this year. Probably missed a bunch that were better. I'll go with my favorites from the ones I remember actually getting in on this year:

- Canon A40 + 128 MB Lexar CF for $210 before tax from OfficeMax after PM and coupon during special promotion.

- 2 120 GB Western Digital SE drives from Dell for $60-$70 each (assuming the rebates come through)

- Free Lite-On 32X CD-RW from Staples after $50 rebate

- Free Artec 16X DVD from Staples after PM and $20 rebate

- Max Payne for $5 from CompUSA isn't too shabby either, though I haven't even bothered installing it yet.

- Too many free subscriptions to keep track of that I got for me and my friends including: Rolling Stone, Esquire, Men's Journal, Outside, Source, Blender, Electronic Gaming Monthly and Sports Illustrated (ok, that last one was in late '01, but it didn't start showing up till this year).

Thanks to all who posted hot deals. And cheers to all.
