I'm so tempted! But I feel as if there will be a better deal around the corner (I'm hoping for something like the outpost deal, 80GB 8MB cache for $50! which I ordered and had cancelled:|).

Anyone else have this feeling?

Plus, IMO, the few extra bucks for getting your stuff from a very reliable vendor (like CC), pay themselves off.
Outpost has some pretty lousy vendor reviews like supplying dead stuff (incl. HDD) and not replacing them.

I jumped on this one, too... As soon as CC sent me an email to let me know they had more in stock.

Thanks,
Jeff

Already do! www.maxtor.com

BB had 120GB 7200RPM hard drives for $90 after PM last week or the week before. Some were 2MB cache ATA/100 others were 8MB ATA/133.

Guess which one I got!

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. A Pentium 233MMX I've been lookin for is finally under the $25 mark but I just have this feeling that if I wait another month it's gonna drop under $20.

I ordered mine online and picked it up. I really like the drive; it is much quieter than the 10gb maxtor that I had. Hmmm, what to do with all this room?

I got one.... $24 isn't worth selling your soul to Satan himself. $79.99 + tax isn't shabby. I'm picking it up cuz I want it now. I plan on BVG this within 60 days to get my $24 rather than MSN hell. Was tempted to get the Compusa $150 120GB 8MB but $70 more for 40GB ain't worth it. Now I got 40GB, three 80GB and one 120GB. BTW the best place to get an external firewire enclosure is from compgeeks. I just ordered my second one
$47.95 ME720F
search google for 10% off promotional code....$5 ups ground shipping and tax for me cuz I'm in CA. Total was $51.50. I have one and it's great.

I tried circuitycity ads pyro $99 firewire external 5.25" and it's great and all by not "portable' at all. Your 3.5" drive will flop around. Compusa brand $69.99 was nightmare on my street...don't waste your time. It would freeze after 10 seconds for like 10 to 20mins. Probably cuz it has a "Genesys" chipset rather than the "Oxford 911" chipset. I had to wait about 30 to 40 mins for tech support to test it to reach the same conclusion that it was a piece of garbage. BTW I'll never ordered from svccompucyle.com as long as I live. They have the me-720F also or so they said. They charged my card when I ordered it and I got 2nd day fedex shipping cuz I needed it soon. Four days later I email them and ask for my tracking #. They said it's out of stock....do I wish to cancel or wait...give me a break.

All locations near me are OOS. See if they honor the price when it is back in stock.

The local CC hasn't had any of these since Monday. I've checked daily. It occured to me that I should look around a little after reading in a Black Friday thread that some of you turds stash stuff till payday, pricedrop, rebate or whatever.

I scored one stashed in the back of the 180gig WD's. Funny thing is, their inventory showed zero every day. That would leave me to believe it was an employee type turd responsible.

Thanks for the deal and the info!! I guess shopping for electronics is kind of like a scavenger hunt from here on out.

I have a few MSN dollars from the last promotion that they ran that I can use right now. My question is that if I use these to buy the HD will I get the MSN dollars in Feb or will I not get any because I paid for part of it with MSN dollars? I looked around the MSN Dollars site and couldn't find anything that gave me an answer.

Got my two drives shipped via UPS today ... they'll be going into my parent's and brother's computers as part of their Christmas Computer upgrade

Sweet deal - Now I just gotta figure out what to spend my $100 MSN dollars on in February ... I suspect that won't be too difficult though.

I think you'll get 20% whatever amount you paid circuitcity after you have used the MSN money. MSN does not check your content in your order just the total at checkout.
