It's going to be *REALLY* hard to find an Office Depot with this in stock. OD cleared out their Handspring stuff last year. If you can find one in an Office Depot you won't have to price match. There's another thread about getting it on clearance at OD. They were going for $2.88 to $24.88.

request the manager to bring it down. tell him that other office depots are selling it for 65.88. A guy on FW posted his receipt from OD for $65 and I showed it to the manager at my office depot. He agreed to bring the pirce down to $75 from $104.

Ah, aw, ok,...ten minutes later she called back and I'm getting it for $68.09 with tax, delivered. I didn't ask her to explain the math...already downloaded the rebate coupon... Wow! Thanks! :Q

Thanks for the awesome find. Picked up the last one in commerce. Now I can dust off my handspring and put it to good use.

The Staples manager first refused it saying that my nearest C-USA was 15 miles and that pm's needed to be with stores within 10 miles. She hesitated then said she'll call to verify stock. LOL..she didn't even look at me when she returned after phone call. She just came back and gave the cashier the box and told her to go ahead and process the order.

I dunno if this has been mentioned before but when I was at checkout, the cashier pulled up this list of stores that they pm'd to and I saw Costco and Sam's on that list. Might be good to get great deals pm'ing to them.

where are you located? I am wondering whether your calls to staples go through a different call center. I am in CA and I have already been shot down twice. Do you remember which representative you talked to?

I got the last one at OD on Sahara Blvd. in Vegas, $80 out the door (I wish I saw the post about printing out that $20 off coupon, maybe i could've gotten an even better deal...oh well). I got home and immediately installed the software, but the software won't recognize the gps module. The help files are useless, and their technical support won't be in until monday morning. Can anyone give me any tips? Something I might be forgetting?

If you search for store locations at http://www.magellangps.com, your list of results will include Staples. This would lead me to believe that Staples is a participating retailer.

Same here. Twice I called and Staples.com refused to PM CompUSA. The first CSR said that they could not PM since CompUSA told them that it was a clearance item. The second CSR did not even give me a chance to tell him CompUSA was the store before he said that he could not PM as he had laready been asked a dozen time in the past hour. YMMV, but I would say a Staples.com PM is now dead. However, I was lucky enough to pick up one up at a local Staples B&M and do the PM on my way to the airport this afternoon

I called Magellan sales and asked if Staples was a participating retailer. I got an "of course" for an answer.

Second, I called staples.com yesterday afternoon (since no B&M has carried it for 6 months around here) and was put on hold for about 15 minutes after
I requested a PM. The CSR came back and told me she was still trying to figure out shipping charges (which should be $18 according to their next
day shipping policy), put me back on hold for another couple of minutes. I got frustrated and hung up since I was anticipating a $18 charge.

Got in on this deal. One major problem. It doesn't even work in my area, at least in my house. I couldn't even configure the coordinates when I first plugged in the GPS unit. Oh well, back to Staples!

It doesn't have any restrictions on where you buy it according to the rebate form. I would have to assume it doesn't matter. The nice thing about getting it at Staples is the fact that that will price match and it gives you an extra 10% off.

Actually the rebate does state a restriction on where you buy it. The rebate form clearly states...Valid at aprticipating retailers. However, Staples and CompUSA are participating retailers.

Try checking the availability at local CompUSA stores. For instance, in the SF Bay Area, the Emeryville and Concord stores still have stock. Go with the print out of the availability to a Staples B&M and try the PM. It's true that CompUSA doesn't carry the GPS module for online sales, so try PMing locally against local stores.

If Staples doesn't pm, give the Office of the President of Staples a call. The number is 1-800-338-0252. It helps to have the name of the person you talked to as well. There's this one Staples in the Bay Area that I have problems pming at. So I give the president a call to break the log jam.

Got in on the deal. They hemmed and hawed a bit on the price match at Staples, but it worked fine. Bought one for myself and another for my brother on a separate receipt.
