Been looking for a quick upgrade to an old system. In searching for a card around $100 I found these. Since all I do is COH either of these work fine but your gaming mileage my vary.......

Microcenter has the 128mb version with a rebate, they also have the 9600 with 256mb for $79 after rebate. Shipping and taxes vary.

DEAL IS DEAD! They raised the price of the 9600xt to $199 and the 9600 to $149 before rebate making this very cold indeed.

the xt by a mile, besides i doubt most folks would have a use for the extra 128mb

the 9500 is faster then the plain 9600 and about same as 9600xt

I get so sick of the number games they play, geforce 2 ultras faster then geforce 4mx...

they been doing it for years just to misslead people so they can push people towards newer lines...

well, how do you know what is better? people keep saying X is better than Y or Y is better than X and X gets 39.5 fps and Y gets 39.6 fps and blah blah blah... what I want to know is, what are the most important factors in a card that make it better? for example, the mentioned 9600 has more memory, but the 9600xt has a faster clock rate, so is a faster clock guaranteed better performance? if so, then what about a 5200 with a fast clock? why is that not as good? what does the 9500 have that makes it as good as the 9600xt? I don't mean "does it play doom3?" I mean what physically makes it good?
