I've never heard of this site so I'm eager to hear feedback about them. Here's the socket 939 3000+ winchester core for $131.00 with free shipping:

http://www.onsale.com/onsale/shop/detail~dpno~507310.asp

OCZ 1gb pc3200 module for 85.75 (probably $20 less than you will find it anywhere else):

http://www.onsale.com/onsale/shop/detail~dpno~555256.asp

Here's another link to a premium OCZ module at a good price:

http://www.onsale.com/onsale/shop/detail~dpno~555244.asp

Would you buy this cpu over the venice at $146? Also which ram would you choose? I'm sure there are more deals to be found on that site as their browing system isn't very good.

Baked is that you??

Gawd... yet another diamond member jumps to conclusions with no evidence to support it what so ever.

Yep I'm sure such a site would need to spam Anandtech.

Kaplan's new venture, http://www.onsale.com , may be the subject of another book -- with a happier ending. More than a million Internet users have visited the site, which held its first auction just two years ago. It's now selling products at a rate of $1 million per week. It's also generating profits, a claim few Web companies can make.

I think you owe someone an apology?

well that venice is oem, no warranty and no heatsink... not sure if all that is worth the retail price. so what's the deal with onsale anyways, read that article and it seems like it's an auction site *shrugs*.

That was an old article... My point was onsale.com has been around a LONG time and I don't think they need afoygel to come here and spam for them. Not but a few days ago another diamond member jumped on another new poster about spamming without any shred of evidence and I was drawing the parallel.

I hate spam, but jumping to conclusions without doing ANY research is just as bad IMO.

yep, that was pretty off the wall IMO, since the deals on ram are by far the best I have seen recently.

This place is located in the PC Mall/eCost building. Funny, I always thought they would fail.

Good memory...I used ecost and onsale.com in '99 and '00 but while they had good prices and inventory, they were one of the last boomer sites to get pictures and links up for their products, and '01 was the last time I used them.

Voila they've arisen from the dead...and to see some ram deals like this, maybe they finallly understand this whole internet thingy.

A long time ago they had a very competitive auction site to Amazon. After Time However this became extremely poor. Especially packaging of auction items and even worse merchandise made everyone go away.

Oh and someone took all their credit card information off their site once to which I think no one shopped there again.

Now it looks like they are trying to make a comeback.

You can?

OCZ 1GB Performance module (Mfr.Part #: OCZ4001024PF )
Newegg: 108.95 + 3.83 shipping = 112.78
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146969

Onsale.com: 101.75 + free ups ground = 101.75
(link in OP)

Winner - Onsale by $11.03

So that one you can't....

Or maybe it's the OCZ 1GB Value series you're talking about...

Onsale: 85.75 + free ups ground = 85.75

Newegg: can't find it on the site. Find the Dual Channel Kit (2x 512MB sticks) but it's more and this is a 1GB single stick...

Winner Onsale by default

Just for fun I went and compared the AMD 3000+ Retail too...

Newegg : 146.00 free fedex saver shipping
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103537
Onsale 131.50 free ups ground

So while the shipping method is a little faster, onsale is still cheaper.

Winner onsale by $14.50

I used to buy from them way back when too... It's nice to think they may comeback.

Different cores though. The Newegg is Venice core and the Onsale is Winchester core. The Venice core at Onsale(Mfr.Part #: ADA3000BPBOX)is $151.50

Winner Newegg by $5.50 with better shipping

onsale.com was a good place back in the mid 90s. It had discontinued new items and refurbs cheap. Now the price is not that competitive. They were bought out and its never been the same. Prices are not good enough for me to bite. I get better deals at Frys or Newegg

Onsale is new management i guess. Let's look into the crystal ball that is RTPE:

http://labs.anandtech.com/search.php?q=ADA3000BIBOX+ $135 eWiz advantage Onsale
http://labs.anandtech.com/search.php?q=OCZ4001024V3+ $93.78 NewEgg advantage Onsale
http://labs.anandtech.com/search.php?q=OCZ4001024PF%20&price=yes $112.78 NewEgg advantage Onsale

Hmm...

If only their reseller rating was a little higher...
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller923.html

Maybe if enough people message me I'll add them to RTPE.
