It seems that some good deals can be had at Office Depot if you are willing to hold while everyone else is being told the TimePort is back-ordered? (My CSR specifically mentioned the timeport).
Here's what you do --
Visit the Office Depot Wireless Center at http://officedepot.cellmania.com/cgi-bin/od_store/homepage.jsp
Note at the moment that the phones have two prices - With Plan and Without Plan. These are currently the *SAME* for all phones! This will likely change soon.
There are two paths now - What I did was to go through the junk of selecting a plan I didn't want, and see where it took me. I ended up back at the main office depot site with a higher price for the phone (because it automatically added the phone without the service plan!).
Alternatively, you can search for the phone on the Office Depot site itself, and get the item number.
Now you have the 6 digit item number, call up the customer service at
888-463-3768, wait on hold for a LONG, LONG, LONG time. Say hi to the nice representative whose working all night (24 - 7!!), and give them the item number. Now, tell them that the same phone is listed for the lower price in the wireless center. The representative will verify it with a supervisor, and reduce the price!
Add in either the $15 off $50 or the $20 off $100 coupons to heat this deal up a little. I walked away with a pair of phones for what they go for on eb*y. So -- Consider this warm.
