I bought an item for a sailboat last week and thought you guys would appreciate the continued stupidity of ebay technical support.
So I paid last Tuesday, and the item is pickup only. 5 emails and 1 week later I still haven't heard from the seller. So I call Ebay to see if I should open a dispute. The first tech support person (in India) reading from a script (poorly) tells me that they can send me the full contact information of the seller, but they have to send him mine at the same time. No problem I say.
So about 10 minutes later I get an email. It has all my information in it, the login of the seller (which of course I already know) and nothing else. So now the seller has all MY info - and I have none of his. Idiots.
So I call back. I get a second person (from India) still reading from a script (poorly). It seems the last support person didn't click the right boxes. Awesome. Second email is on it's way.
10 minutes later I get the second email. It is for the wrong login ID, from someone on the other end of the country. And now this completely unrelated person has all my contact information as well. Fan-fucking tastic ebay. Great job.
So I call back again. I get a third person (from India) still reading from the same script (poorly). Oh, we're very sorry sir, this happens some times. And another email is sent.
10 minutes later, I finally get the right fucking number and I call the guy to find out he's like 70 and doesn't check his email and didn't even know he had sold the item. In the mean time, I receive a call from Texas because this guy I have nothing to do with has gotten my contact information and wants to know why ebay is mailing him.
W.T.F.
tldr: Bought item, ebay support fucks it up, old people shouldn't ebay.
