Debating returning new build parts

So I've gone through and purchased what I need to upgrade my current computer and pass down parts to my WHS to upgrade that. After doing so, I started to debate on if I should jump onto the SSD bandwagon and buy an Intel X25-V 40GB. I figured that I could pass down the SSD to my fiancee's laptop once SSD prices start to shift further below the $1.50/GB stage. I'm open to suggestions on video cards too as I'm trying to hold off for price drops with the 6000 series coming out.

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. Folding, internet usage, ripping DVDs, photo editing, Office 2007, very light gaming (have a 360)

2. What YOUR budget is. $125 for SSD if current parts aren't returned ($300 if returned)

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from. USA - possibly MicroCenter as I have one 20 minutes from me

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. AMD, but they don't make SSDs and I've read OCZ Onyx aren't the greatest

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are. See below

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads. Yes

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds. Unlocking cores at stock clock

8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with. 1680x1050

9. WHEN do you plan to build it? I have the parts now

10. Don't ask for a build configuration critique or rating if you are thin skinned. Sweet

Parts purchased for upgrade: MSI 785GM-P45, AMD Phenom II X2 555BE, Kingston HyperX DDR1600 2x2GB (I know it's overkill), Samsung F3 1TB

Existing parts being moved to new PC: Antec 200, Antec True Power Trio 650, Samsung SH-S223, Dell 2007WFP, Windows 7 Ultimate

Current parts: ASUS M2A-VM, AMD Athlon64 X2 4000+, Corsair XMS2 DDR800 2x1GB, Seagate 320GB, ASUS 2600XT

If you're waiting for the 6xxx series, just stick with the IGP on the 785G mobo.

For SSDs... the 60GB, and even 120GB, SSDs are usually better when it comes to $/GB. I'd take a look at the OCZ Vertex 2 and Crucial C300, both based off the Sandforce controller.

There are SSDs based off the Indilinx controller for cheaper (closer to $100 for 60GB), but I'm not sure I'd still buy one, now that Sandforce is out.

EDIT: I mixed something up. The C300 uses a Marvell controller, not Sandforce. I meant to say Corsair Force.

I paid about $80 for the HyperX. It didn't seem bad at the time for no rebates, but I'll probably kick myself for the 1.7-1.9 voltage rating on it.

I see both of you have suggested OCZ SSDs. I've second guessed those because I've seen people say stay away. Maybe I'll just leave my WHS alone since it's been rock solid for stability, piece out my current computer, and put money towards getting a Sandforce based SSD.

I think you should've got the MSI 785G-E53 standard ATX motherboard for an extra $10, instead of the mATX one. But you dont plan to overclock so I guess its okay. But generally its better to go standard rather than micro atx if possible.

That may have been true in the past, but I don't really think that is the case anymore.

Well for the most part IMO, in the case of more slots for cards and of the higher probabilty of more options for ports.. In this case the mATX P45 doesnt have dvi, firewire, and optical sound like the ATX E43. The E43 also has more USB ports and has cooling on the mosfet/vrms and the P45 does not. Well worth the extra $10...
