Decent Celeron 600 FC-PGA motherboard?

Hi,

I purchased a 600 FC-PGA celeron over a Duron as from what I had been reading, the motherboards are much cheaper.

Performance isn't that much of an issue, as this will be my second computer and used for testing a Linux server setup and other non-essential stuff.

BUT, all the cheap boards I've found (under $60) only support PPGA Celerons up to 533. So far, one of the only low-price options that may work is:

$49 (w/ coupon) BCM IN810S (but I'd need a slotket as it's Slot1, plus I keep hearing that BCM boards suck).

Any suggestions for a "decent" and CHEAP board option.

Oh, one catch, it has to be MATX (that's what my case is) and prefereably have onboard videa and sound (again, second system, just trying to build it on the cheap, so won't be playing games on this comp)...

Thanks for any and all help in advance...

The soyo.com.tw site has a search by CPU. It will report the Soyo boards and Bios that will work for any CPU. Doing this for the Celeron 600 and then checking pricewatch I came up with the 7IWA-F for $59 plus shipping.

Thanks for the early response. That price is from Bi State, their site sucks as far as giving you any idea what you're buying and I can't find Soyo boards on the site. They (Soyo bd's) are good for o/c'ing too, right?

I'm also looking at the Tekram S381-M+, which can be found for under $60 but seems to be out of stock everywhere at that price.

Anyone else run into this issue lookin for cheap fc-pga boards...?

Yeah...I'm looking for a cheap board to run a Celeron II 566 @ 850. So far I've found nothing that would constitute my definition of cheap (ie < $40). Computer Geeks has a used Intel BX board for $26.50 but I don't know if that will run the Celeron II or not. =(

No. Most of these PGA370 boards won't support the Celeron II's. They usually top out at the PPGA 533's. Another option to consider is finding a Slot 1 PIII board (some cheap one's out there), but then you have to add a slotket which could cost you another $10 to $20...

Yeah...I was looking for an integrated board...the person is upgrading from a P-133, so the less money the better! I'll keep looking.
