DECENT: ms intellimouse wireless for 50 after mir (maybe 45)

bestbuy marked down the mouse to 59.99. There $10 mir somewhere so that should bring it down to 50ish.
Also most of the internet stores have em for 55, so if you can get a pricematch the ttal will be around 45 bucks.

While this is a good deal, let me say the response time of the wireless may be less than what some of you hope for. I tried using this after a first-gen explorer and was so put off I returned it within days. Unfortunately, R/F mice really don't hold up well if you want a quick response. On the good side, the ergonomics of the wireless are quite cool, and I hope they make the explorers follow suit.

my friend likes it.. and he plays quake3 w/ it. seems happy. and i need something to spend my $40 BB GC on I'd get the corded one.. but i don't like it's shape.. doesn't fit as well

I agree w/ Valk. I have the 1st gen explorer mouse too and prefer it over the wireless version. The wireless one is quite comfortable, but not a good choice if you like to play games. The response time isn't that quick and I didn't find mine to be very sensitive. Good price though if you really want it.

Yes, I'm sure it's very subjective. I just wanted to warn people that like fast response. I guess I'm overly sensitive to the delay rates of a mouse (I did some beta testing for MS a few weeks back and was pretty much told that I can't own wireless mice, as I'm sensitive to the delays beyond the rates of the RF hardware they use).

I just got this last week to replace my Logitech cordless mouseman that came with Cordless Desktop Pro.

The mouse itself felt very comfortable. The two thumb buttons were very handy.............one set to Internet backward and one for forward.

But what I don't like is...........the pointer movement isn't as good as my old logitech. I'm very disappointed.......to say the least.

I went back to Logitech.

Like everyone else is saying, I had this mouse the first day it was released, Used it for about an hour, and put it right back in the box for return. Microsoft really screwed up this one, not sure why. In the past all microsoft mouses have been mega kick ars but I guess they just wanted to get a wireless optical out there to compete with logitech, even if it did stink. The thing responds slower then any mouse I've ever used. STAY AWAY if you like to use mice for computers and not to chase around the house(ok that was lame I admit).

Yep, the response of this mouse is really bad. Even in Windows it tends to fall behins sometimes and miss certain movements. In games it's really sad.

** Edit: I also remember my friend complaining about that mouse at work, but then he took it home and it worked much better with his (faster) home PC. Could be a performance issue?

hrm.. interesting.... my friend is a fairly avid fps player.. usually, those things are the first thing that he'll notice (obviously).. very odd... does anyone know how best buy handles returns w/ gift cards? I'll give it a try probably....

and where's the rebate? or is it compusa specific?
