Replace the Accord with the fast Tesla model and then maybe it starts to make more sense to me at least.

200k gets you a Huracan. Just sayin. Or a Portafino. Or a DB-11. A bunch of drop dead sexy cars. The McLaren at least fits in with this group of semi-exotic metal. Prestigious manufacturers of status symbols.

Acura, Nissan, Chevy, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi not so much.

a huracan would be dead sexy. or you could go with an R8 V10+

the GT3RS is always a solid choice. GTR should be thrown in even though i don't like it, just because it's so bonkers. aston martins? classy AF.

Like last time, I'm conflicted over getting a high MPG car and a nice sports car. The Accord would fill a niche for me and be an eventual replacement for my 24 year old Maxima. I would feel a certain amount of gratification every time I filled up.

On the other hand, I just spent $3K fixing up my Maxima (new transmission, radiator, power window motor, etc.), so I'd like to keep driving it to 500K, thus making the Accord is superfluous.

I find the McLaren to be the sexiest car around $200K; more so than the Huracan, R8, or 911. McLaren stopped making the 570S except for custom orders, so it's going to be more of a pain to get later. So I feel a sense of urgency to get one sooner rather than later.

Since the vote seems to be for the McLaren, I've started negotiations on one. I now feel justified that ATG has absolved me of any guilt over buying it, so I'll blame you guys when my spouse finds out.

I haven't heard of any major issues with the 570S, but I'll let you guys know what does pop up for me. It does have unlimited miles on the three year warranty. Each additional year is $4500 and maxes out at either 8 or 10 years (forgot which it is).

Deal has been reached on the car. They are preparing docs.

I DD an LS 460 and I cannot see myself switching to another car anytime soon. It's not for everyone but if you connect with that car you'll be hooked for life.

Or, at least, part of your life.

Man, the 460. I'll never forget when the 430 swept MB's S, BMW's 750 and I forget the other one in Consumer Reports in comfort, ride, confusion factor, controls, mileage, cost of ownership, quietness, ... and RELIABILITY.
