I just looked on Nvidia's web site, and I see no drivers for the PPU. I may be looking in the wrong spot, but at first look, I saw none.

grrr...single drivers for everything...mixing nvidia and ati...bad, bad
hell i might just pick one up for 150$ here and see how it works
btw keys i wouldnt mind having nvidia gfx, if only every time i stuck one in my computer, i didnt feel dissapointed with image quality...tried everything in drivers image enhance, etc, etc, and everytime i put ati back in, its like i have bough all new monitor...weird, since some people are saying that nvidia actually has better IQ

I think what also might be useful are results without PhysX so we can see the performance hit from enabling it.

I can save you, and more to the point, me, a lot of time and just say that results without Physx would be faster. A lot less to do for the graphics card. A lot less to see and experience for the user.
Update: Just added Warmonger results for Rig1 with forced AA in NVCP. It works fine. Jaggies are gone. Performance hit (at 1280x1024 at this point) is minimal. Check it out.

Expand the horizon a little bit more .. you think about it; with a GeForce 8200 chipset integrated mainboard (available already), you could run PhysX over the mainboard's integrated GPU, and just add a dedicated GPU (graphics card) for gaming, and you have the best of both worlds combined with very acceptable power energy levels.

I have no doubt that you are right, but this request is probably the most essential one, at least it is for me. If I can't play my games with physx GPU enabled, then what's the point of having the option?
I'm certain that you would do us all a great favor by providing us the numbers to BFG's request.

Still it would be nice to know how much faster.

Can you bench out City of Heroes/Villains? It has native PhysX support. It IS an MMO though, so if you don't have an account I can send you a trial key.

I don't have that game. Hmmmmm but my brother in law does! I think he does anyway.
But lets try it your way first. Can I download the full version of the game and use the trial key?
I guess that would be ok, if it works.

Unless they added more effects later on, PhysX was used very minimally on COH/COV. They bundled a free month with my PPU, and IIRC there wasn't a whole lot added.

I think a crucial benchmark that everyone overlooks is what are the FPS in a non-PhysX version of these maps. So you get less fancy effects, but what is important is what are you giving up; is it 20, 50, or 100 FPS that you're giving up for losing shader processing power to some falling stones, nifty water effects, etc.? I know it might be difficult to gauge since the PhysX versions of these maps tend to stress the GPU harder just to draw the additional effects, but it does provide something to compare against.

Yeah, in the December Anandtech article on Ageia Physx, they said that Physx content in those games were almost non-existent. Should I even bother?
