Deeko's 2011 NFL Predictions!!

The NFC will come down to the Packers and Eagles with the Saints as my dark horse. The AFC will come down to the Steelers and the Ravens with the Chargers a dark horse. I think we might see a rematch of last year's Super Bowl with the Packers winning again.

That said, even as an Eagles fan, I just don't see them getting past the Packers to the SB. I don't even see them winning 12 games. Unlike much of the rest of the universe, I'm not convinced Vick won't regress big time. For me, all the signs are there. When pressured badly later last season, he tended to throw picks. I don't see that changing, especially behind this year's leaky and woefully inexperienced O-line.

To me - its not about Vick. I fully agree that Vick won't be anything like his little MVP-caliber stretch her had mid season or so last year. Its the rest of the team. Lesean McCoy and Ronnie Brown is a very solid duo. They've got dangerous receivers. Their trio is corners will be very hard to throw against, and the defensive line will put a ton of pressure on opposing QBs.

I see these being the biggest threats to the Eagles, in order:

1) Teamwork. As a Cowboy fan, I'm well acquainted with random free agents not melding together quickly. How quickly/well this happens is the biggest key to their success.
2) The middle of the defense. As strong as they are on the edges, they are pretty weak at linebacker and safety. A team with a good tight end or a strong interior running game could exploit this.
3) The offensive line. Its not as good as it used to be.
4) Vick being Vick. I don't expect him to throw like Peyton, I think he'll be like Vick always has been....but if the other 3 factors pan out ok, that's plenty, in my opinion.

We'll see what happens. As it stands now, on paper, they have a huge amount of talent. The question will be if that talent turns into wins.

We'll see. The weapons at all the offensive skill positions are certainly there. I'm just not sure that they're a balanced and set TEAM.

Anyway, the Eagles brain trust gave Vick that ginormous contract, and they know more about pro football than I (or any other OT poster, for that matter) ever will, so . . .

Oh, and whoever said the Gints will win the NFC East is a complete and utter idiot.

Also, I, too, think the 'Boys go better than 8-8.

The Cowboys have the talent to be better than 8-8....but I really, really don't like Jason Garrett. We'll see. I wonder if anyone has taught him what "play action" means, or that shotgun 5-wide sets are not the preferred lineup at the goal line.

I also will go on record as absolutely guaranteeing the Broncos will be better than 4-12. That was their record last year, the worst in their history. There is no way they won't improve at all, even if its just one win.

I will take any bet that says otherwise. My house if you want to bet it.

Oh and I'll also guarentee the Chargers don't even get to the Super Bowl much less win it. Norv Turner is an idiot and as long as he is their coach, they are doomed to early playoff failure

I do like their weapons - Crabtree, Edwards, Davis, and Gore isn't a bad group of skill players. That's about all they've got though....if they were playing in a better division, I'd have their record worse.

yeah, they actually did look decent in preseason...I know.

what I saw with those guys is that they were doing their share of compensating for some horrible throws from Alex Smith, so I think that will carry them to a decent season. Maybe not 8-8, but likely better than most people expect.

It can be interesting but all predictions do is show people can regurgitate general consensus and maybe throw in some personal bias.

Hehe keep the faith. I admire the fans who stick with teams even through long droughts. I'm a Dallas guy, but I have a big soft spot for the niners of the golden age, and by extension, the old Candlestick park. I cringed when it was referred to as '3com' park. What a bunch of bullshit.

Sadly, for us here in Dallas, our old legendary stadium was stupidly torn down, even though it was in fairly good shape and a great venue for high school sports, concerts, and so on. Irving will never see a stadium of that caliber again.

The new Cowboys stadium is really impressive, but has no charm or character really. Also I've heard the acoustics suck for concerts unless you're in the 200s and below. I've been to one concert there, and it sounded good to me (I was in the 200s about 1/3rd back from the stage side), but tons of people in the 300s and virtually everyone in the 400s left during the show.

Yeah, I'll rebutt (sic) that claim. Despite having a small market team, the Bills are right in the middle regarding operating income. There were 6 other teams with lower revenue, all of which belong to larger TV markets than Buffalo. A popularity poll a year ago had Buffalo at 20th out of 32 teams. Ralph Wilson won't be moving the Bills anywhere.

The reason that people talk about Buffalo moving is because Wilson is 92, the oldest and only original owner in the NFL. He's bound to croak sooner or later, so Buffalo being a small market combined with larger markets like LA or a potential Toronto having no team, they appear to be a likely candidate for moving. And even that is not likely to happen, since Jim Kelly is more than willing to do what he can to keep them in Buffalo.

So, yeah, my stands.

They're not losing money. They're right in the middle--as literally as you can be in an even-numbered league--in operating income. They have an owner who won't move the team and potential buyers who won't move the team. But you choose to ignore those points because they don't fit with your smarmy remark.

Did you see me roll my eyes at that? I suppose the post might have been a little ambiguous, but no. I also expect them to be the bottom of the AFC East, and I'd love it if they won the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. I fully expect mediocrity this season.
