I knew the Eagles fans would come in with those comments...

The WRs are not really that great. Donte Stallworth is just another #2 receiver to add to a long tradition of #2 receivers in Philly. Reggie Brown is the same, just a #2 guy. RB depth is better? Are you crazy? Westbrook can't stay healthy, Buckhalter OBVIOUSLY can't stay healthy, seeing as he's ended up on IR 3 out of the last 4 years. Moats/Perry/Mahe are non-factors and everyone knows it, they aren't keeping defensive coordinaters up at night. How could you not know Kearse and Howard have a history of injury? Over the past three or four years, either or both of them have been injured for signifigant periods of time. Plus, Kearse didn't exactly have a steller season last year, in case you've forgotten. The Eagles love their OL, but the tackles are old, Thomas particularly isn't what he used to be. Who the hell is that at LG? Jamal Jackson isn't very good, terrible idea to trade Fraley. I do like Andrews, and Runyan can still block, but the left side is questionable.

And you're right, their LBs are awful, I figured that was a given.

Didn't know you were in the area. Honestly, it's almost a four-way toss-up in the NFC East, but I see it this way:

1.Giants
2.Eagles
3.Cowboys
4.Skins

Plus, even IF this team were as good as the NFC championship teams pre-T.O., the NFC was terrible back then. It was no big accomplishment to go 12-4 in that NFC, espcially that NFC East. The conference is so much stronger now, and the East has become the best division in football. Eagles fans are in for a rude awakening this year.

oh I live just a few short blocks from the Eagles old home at Franklin Field. And you're right, the division is very strong, and very tight. If the Eagles were in the NFC North, I'd put them as a lock to win it, but I really just don't see them as being on the same level as Dallas and New York.

If you live right in the Philly area, how come you seem to hate the Eagles, Philly, and everything about the place?

I used to work in Philly and I made sure to wear Giants gear during football season. You would not believe the crap I put up with.

What's with the fvcking narrow streets in center city?
And what's with the freaking traffic circle smack in middle of Market st. that screwed me up every time around city hall?
And what's the moronic drivers that have to slow to a crawl on 76 because of the silly balloon flying over the zoo?
etc, etc.

BrokenVisage...no, the Eagles just aren't that good. All I hear from Eagles fans is "we went to the NFC championship 3 times with this team!" and yes, a lot of the core players are still there, but not all of them, some of them, like the OT's and Brian Dawkins, are getting up there in age, and honestly, the rest of the conferance and especially the division is much better now.

Have the Redskins ever had a crappy season with Gibbs as head coach? (other than his first year, and his first year back when he had to rebuild?)

Hmmm.... it seems he did - back in 88... I forgot about that year.
Gibbs' record

Perhaps I'm a little biased (Redskins fan), but it's amazing what Gibbs can do with even mediocre talent (ie. he won a superbowl with Mark Rypien as quarterback)

Ahhhhh, memories are flooding in now... a defense staring at a running back lining up under center and the quarterback in the backfield, wondering wtf?? Ernest Byner doing a piroette (or whatever that ballet spin is) while in motion, on two consecutive plays, again making the defense wonder wtf?? If for no other reason, I loved the genius and creativity that went into creating plays that weren't seen being used by any other team. Everyone's heard of the counter-trey - very effectively used by the skins in the 80's until other teams finally figured out how to stop it.

Regardless, the NFC East is the toughest division to call... Just about any order is likely.

T.O. will be fine, plus I don't care what any eagles fans say to make themselves feel better, he is NOT the reason they went 6-10 last year. Not by a long shot.

I don't know if TO will be fine, but I agree that he's not the reason for the Eagle's bad season last year. The Eagles bet big on Brian Westbrook when they let Staley go and he hasn't been the back they thought he would be. He's great catching the ball out of the backfield and he's very versitile, but he can't pound the ball. Other teams know this. I don't know if that's the reason they were bad last year, but I think it certainly plays into it.

Last year Westbrook wasn't great and then got hurt, McNabb was injured all season even when he was playing, the OL had injures, Akers was hurt, Lito Sheppard was hurt...T.O. was just the media's best friend, and continues to be so.

Branch has already said that he won't play even if he's not traded. And yes, Vinatieri won those Superbowls. Of course it was a team effort to get them to that point, but it was the fact that the Pats had the best clutch kicker in the game that WON them, and now he's gone.

Like I said, the Pats are still a good team, but they aren't as good as they were last year even IF Branch plays, which I highly doubt he will. The Dolphins are better. Thus, they have an excellent chance to dethrone the Pats in that division. That's alls I'm sayin.

Oh, and I've already got a few hundred bucks worth of bets goin with Eagles fans I know. I don't need to take your money, too. You're obviously in some altered state of mind, its kinda like how murderers can plead insanity and get away with what they did, I'd feel bad.

We've upgraded at RB, have one of the best Defensive Lines in the game, a top 10 offensive line, the best QB in the game, one of the deepest at TE in the game, as well as Bruschi, Colvin, Vrabel, and Harrison on Defense. Ellis Hobbs and Asante Samuel are very good Corners as well. Receiver we could be hurting at the loss of branch, but as shown by Preseason, our TE sets offset that. Hell, we won the Super Bowl in 2001 with Fred Coleman as a starting receiver, and Troy Brown as our #1.

Anyways, Culpepper will probably end up on IR before the end of the season, their defense is old (zach thomas and jason taylor are past their primes), and their secondary is suspect. They better hope they put up 30+ points a game. Even the Dolphins fan forums think the Pats will finish ahead of the Dolphins, lol.

Did you really just say Ellis Hobbs is a "very good corner?" Wow. He has some potential, but he's small and gets pushed around by most receivers in the league.

What's the deal with that site?

Apparently it's a white supremicist site. Interesting link from Google Images.

THis is how the AFC West WILL be at the end of the year.

AFC West
1. Denver Broncos - On solid team all around.
2. Kansas City Chiefs - Chieds < 'nuff said.
3. San Diego Chargers - No Charge in the batteries.
4. Oakland Raiders - Still is counted as an AFC West team?

Yes. The Broncos will be on top even with the tough schedual.

The sad yet strangely funny part is that the site makes some valid points about sports. All the sponsor money/credibility goes to the player who generates the most street hype as opposed to the best player. We've all heard about Michelle Wie, and how "great" she is. But how many wins does she have? Who is actually leading the scoreboards?

The rest of that site is propaganda, though.
