hmm actually i think deeko is going to be really close.

Pats have a hell of a team. If Moss actually decids to play 100% he will help them out a LOT. with the other WR they have its going to be a good season. well long as the running game is decent. I am just not convinced taht Romo is going to take them to the superbowl. playoffs? sure maybe even the championship game. but not the superbowl. but also not convinced the Bears will make it either.

Maybe, but I'm not giving in. Whenever the Pats play in the post season, I'm pulling for the other team and neither rhyme nor reason will make me see it any differently.

<--- Raiders fan still bitter about the tuck rule game.

The NFC is tough to call this year. There isn't a lot of discrepancy from the top to the bottom. A team that I have finishing last in their division could very well end up winning the conference. I don't really think the Bears are good enough to go 12-4, but then again, I didn't think they were good enough to go 13-3 last year, either. Their division is still the weakest in the NFC. The West may not be the strongest, but its the tightest. It could go how I predicted, or completely different.

The Pats...they were a very good team last year. Then you add 3 receivers on offense, all 3 of which are better than their #1 last year. This includes Randy Moss, who I considered the best WR in the league when he played for Minnesota. Plus, you add Adalius Thomas on defense. I think Thomas is a bit overrated personally...but its still a big improvement for them, and he fits great in a Bellichek defense.

I just hope you are right in the Chargers winning a playoff game during LT's career.

As a Colts fan I find it sickening to think of the Patties winning another SB, but they certainly pulled in some talent this season. My Colts have a tough road ahead of them, but I think we'll still win the division easily. I wonder if the Chargers will be as good as they were last season, after their coaching staff was gutted. The way they fell apart in the 2nd round to the Pats showed a bit of immaturity, which wasn't helped by all the coaching changes, I'm sure. The Bears are lucky to be in their division, they'd be 8-9 win team in many others. I think the Seahawks will surprise people this season, they're my pick for NFC fodder in the Super Bowl. Whoever makes it from the AFC will destroy the NFC challenger unless something insane happens.

Remember this:

FOXBORO, Massachusetts -- The New England Patriots Sunday agreed to a five-year, $100-million deal with the Prince of Darkness.

"Satan is an incredibly valuable member of the Patriots' family," said team owner Bob Kraft, "and we are delighted our fans will continue to enjoy his exploits while being delivered into his power."

The Patriots acquired the Great Deceiver as a free agent before the 2001 season, after last-minute negotiations and pleas for forgiveness from Baltimore Ravens owner Art Modell. Since then, the Devil has led the previously-inept New England franchise to three Super Bowl championships and five AFC East titles.

The team has not been without struggles, as players have left to sign with other teams or been sent into the bowels of hell. The Patriots this year have worked without football receiver Deion Branch, who signed with the Seattle Seahawks, and defensive tackle Ted Washington, now walking in a circle in a lead jacket for all eternity.

However, Kraft said there have been three constants: Satan, coach Bill Belichick, and quarterback Tom Brady, previously an unemployed 48-year-old machinist from San Matteo, California.

"When Satan magically transformed this loser into the greatest quarterback in history, we knew he'd be worth every penny," Kraft said. "Only members of Satan's dark army know how pathetic Tommy was before that fateful night at the crossroads."

Belichick had signed with Satan the previous year, gaining a reputation as a genius coach in exchange for his soul and his fashion sense.

"It's really not so much that I'm brilliant," Belichick said after defeating the San Diego Chargers 24-21 Sunday. "Satan continually delivers our enemies unto us, praise be unto him. No sooner do they take the field than they're suddenly turning over the ball and having accidents."

"I mean, can you believe Brady threw an interception, only to have the Chargers fumble it and the Patriots recover?" Belichick added. "Come on, that's not skill. That's preparation and goat sacrifice."

The Patriots meet the Indianapolis Colts next week for a 34-20 victory that will feature two Brady touchdowns, 12 "accidental" Colts turnovers and the damnation of Red Sox fan Scott Brywood, 26, of Brookline.

Satan had expressed interest in signing Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, but Manning has already sold his soul to Mastercard.

The Dark Lord will remain with the Patriots through the 2011 season, at which point he will carry a screaming Kraft into a world of terror and darkness.

Losing Jackson will NOT turn out as poorly as people seem to think. Branch has better skills and the hawks have a good crew of young receivers like D.J. Hackett ready to fly. And we still have mister dependable Bobby Engram.
The only question marks in my mind are will the offensive line gel early and can the team stay reasonably healthy?

Other than that...GO HAWKS!!!!

3. Vikings (8-8) - A solid defense, but no QB or WR, and only average at RB

I am trying to see your point of view...but I can't get my head up my ass that far...

Don't quit your day job

LOL are last year's still around? People were riding him hard yet he was 60-70% on the playoff teams, 50%ish in the playoffs, and called the super bowl winner before the season.
So, actually yeah he probably could quit his day job. That's better than ESPN analysts do. If it wasn't for his Cowboy bias (which I happen to LOVE) he would probably have had both super bowl teams last year.

I dont remember, but how well did last season's predictions turn out. Were they fairly accurate?

Yes.

Deeko I am glad you did this again bro after that asshat PaulNEPats wouldn't shut the hell up last year.

Anyhow, I gotta tell you I am not "up" on the 49ers but I think they will be .500, so 8-8 for me. Same with the Titans, I think they will be 8-8. I agree with you on most everything else, hey could you put your playoffs in the format you did last year? Too weird trying to look at your playoffs and try and pick out the NFC teams, etc. Just put a seeded list if you would please. I know taht I could do it by looking at your divisions but I am lazy.

Also, unless I am completely off why aren't the Saints in your playoffs as the second wild card? You have them 10-6 and the cardinals 9-7 but the cards in the playoffs? I could just be confused about how the wild card works.

Either way, I can't wait to see how things end up, Keep up the good work!

You really don't have the Steelers at .500? Heck if Ben sucks it up, Batch can get them to .500 at least.

That's like saying Romo is a legit QB!

Edit: Oh and if the Packers are behind the Vikings AND Lions at season end, I will eat my shoe.

so the bears getting the best TE in the draft, hester on offense and kick returns, and a more experienced rexy makes the O worse? thats pretty good logic

For the first time since 98 the cardinals will be above .500?
That would be cool...and they definitely have the potential to do it but i say give them 1 more year to break that streak. This year probably 8-8,7-9 pushing the mark but not quiet there yet. Lienart needs 1 more year for the line to gain some more strength (and hopefully fitz and boldin dont jump ship)

I'm hoping to pick him up in my FFL this year, you just wait and see!

I'm also getting the Bears defense in like the 5th round

Thanks I was looking for that, how did you find it? I searched from 3/06 to 4/07 for all of deeko's offtopic posts. Oh well. Anyhow, eat your heart out hatas.

I bolded what I think might be losses...
Figure a split with Cincy, a split with Baltimore, and a sweep of the browns.
Theres at most 6 losses... and I think the seattle & Jax games are winnable @ home.

A little off? Here are some highlights of last years predictions:

4. Philadelphia Eagles - hahahahahaha...hold on...hahahahahaha
They finished 1st.

3. Tampa Bay Bucaneers - Simms is ok, gotta love Cadillac
Cadillac rushed for 798 yards, 1 TD, and 3 fumbles.

4. New Orleans Saints - deuce/bush is an awesome backfield, but thats all they have
Brees and Colston would disagree. They finished 1st.

1. Seattle Seahawks - reversing the madden curse.
Alexander (Madden Cover Boy) missed 6 games due to injury and rushed for 896 yards with a 3.6 average and 6 fumbles.

4. San Francisco 49ers - only good player is the 36 year old Larry Allen
And some guy named Frank Gore? Also had a much improved young QB and offensive line.

1. Miami Dolphins - Daunte will be back, mark it
Speaks for itself

2. New England Patriots - Vinatieri is the only reason they won Superbowls. He's gone.
Tom Brady would disagree with you

2. Jacksonville Jaguars - questions at RB, but solid all around
Their running backs (Taylor & Jones-Drew) were the best thing they had going for them

3. Tennessee Titans - Young is a bust of Ryan Leaf-like proportions.
You sure about that?

Based on what I'm seeing of this year's predictions, my prediction is another hilarious thread next year. This is about akin to me making NBA predictions when I haven't watched a basketball game in 10 years.

I admire your fortitude for going out on a limb like that, but by my quick (not double-checked) math, you've 22 wins too many. The cumulative league record should be 256-256, and I'm showing you at 278-234, which is of course impossible. You've got too much 'win' bias. To correct this, I suggest starting with the Cardinals and the Vikings.
