Definitive CPU cooler roundup?

Has anyone done one of these lately? In the past, I've seen sites do a test of about 20 or so CPUs and compare them from best to worst, under full loads, etc. But these are old and out of date now. If anyone has seen a recent heat-sink roundup, I'd appreciate a link. This stock fan has to go. 62C makes me nervous.

Not being an ass but the xp-90/xp-90c/xp-120 are clearly winners with reviews left and right by sites and users. Take a look at those.

In fact, I just got the xp-90 today and I was a little worried since the temp dropped only 2 degrees C. After the compound settled a bit, i was getting 29-30C idle compared to 38C stock.

edit: oh and im not even using AS5

They are very good. I like them myself. And they're the only known (to me) coolers that will fit in an Antec Aria without modification, (the 7000 series at least).

Im currently running a xp-90 with a panaflo 92mm, and am getting the best temps i have ever had. Im running my amd64 3200+ oc @ 2.35 gigs and getting 32c temps stable. Full load it bearly pushes 42c, and i even turned down my fan with a controller to the lowest possible speed and am still getting the same temps. So from personal experience the xp-90 rocks!

Everyone here at AT has been saying that the XP-90C is a waste of money compared to the XP-90, but according to the review it's the best on the market, even better than the XP-120.

Comments anyone?...

I noticed that as well. I have a XP-90 on order but was considering cancelling in favor of a 90C. Can someone justify the difference?

If you don't have a good heatsink, the XP-90c is the best choice, but if you already have an XP90, it's probably not worth it for 2 degrees.

the cost is like 50% more and the weigh is (dont quote me) 300g vs 900g i think (or could be 600g, totally forgot) all that for a mere 2-3 degrees. I would get it if I am already using AS5 and i desperately need those few degrees. but damn it does look cool

The Zalman is even good for a mild overclock of a 3.0 P4, at least for a Northwood (not too sure how well it could handle an overclocked Prescott). My Zalman 7000 AlCu keeps my 3.0C @ 3.4 at 32C/idle and 48C/load.
