Hello everyone, ok here is the deal. My brother tried to defrag his hard drive a few months ago, and it would act like it was running but the screen showing the sectors being defragged never appeared and the thing never changed from saying 0% so it apparently was not working.
Now a few months later we installed a new bigger and faster hard drive, as well as moved from win98 to win98 SE. We had forgotten about what had happened before untill he recently tried to defrag the new drive.
Well,the same thing happens. It acts like it is running but even after sitting there for 20 minutes nothing ever happens on the screen showing the sectors being defragged (or showing the sectors at all for that matter) and the progress still says 0%.
I don't know what to tell him, because every time i have run the defrag program on my computer it works fine showing both the sectors being defragged and of course the progress percentage(%) going up.
So it's happened on his computer now with 2 different hard drives and win98 and win98 SE. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thank you very much!!
