I have an XFX 6950 due to be delivered tomorrow. And I have resisted the urge to cancel it because it can be flashed to become a 6970.

I'm curious to know how much of those 43 posts you have are actually useful...

Meh... just cancel it.

God no! I'm looking forward to getting it. I've been considering getting a second one in fact.

Tiger Direct has been more than helpful BTW. I'd never done business with them before, I've used the Egg almost exclusively for the past 12 years, and was nervous but they really have gone out of their way to help me through the mess I created.

I REALLY need to buy a game or two now. That sale at Steam is still on.

Your audio gear intrigues me!

As it should; very hard to beat for the price paid. The Xtrememusic is old, I'll replace it eventually. Though I'm now considering the Aperion Verus bookshelves (waiting for reviews) as a replacement for my L/R. Or perhaps the new Sierra-1 when released (though probably too expensive for me). Axiom M3v3 as well, but I doubt they're much different than the v2 I listened to. Not that I'm unhappy with my current setup, just feeling that upgrade itch.

I'm more or less happy with mine as well. But I have that same itch.

I have an X-Fi XtremeMusic as well, I bought it the week it was released from a Best Buy for $100. It's gotten long in the tooth and won't be transplanted into my new i7 SB build. But I have never regretted buying the card, it has preformed well over the years far better than the onboard audio that was garbage.

What are you planning on replacing it with?

Ah, you've got a Klipsch setup. Nothing wrong with that. Far better than any "PC speaker system" (even the Promedia 5.1).

Will probably go with an HT Omega card (or maybe ASUS) after my Xtrememusic.

Troll fail...did you really have to make a wholenother thread?
couldn't have just:

posted this on the 6950>6970 thread?
posted this in one of your other 2 threads?
not posted this at all?
isn't this like the 3rd card you've ordered already?

By the way, flashing is not guaranteed...and if successful, it does not guarantee stability.

A killer sound card is high on my shopping list of tech toys.

And Raven you and the others who are still giving me a hard time can put your lips together and BLOW.

I assume you're trolling like so many others suggested on this thread. I'm legitimately asking now, what was the point to the title? Were you really considering returning it again? I've been gaming on my 6950 for a week now and I love it. So what's the deal man?

I say this with a smile, just curious dude.

It was a JOKE, after the messup I'd caused before.Heck NO I wasn't thinking of canceling it AGAIN.

BTW, I can't say enough good things about the folks at Tiger Direct, they went way out of their way to give me a break.

I've been messing about with mine for the past hour. I'm quite pleased and will likely order another next week.

I'm thinking of flashing it with the XFX 6970 BIOS but will probably wait till tomorrow, I'm tired tonight and have a real early morning up and coming. How cool is it to have the ability to switch between two BIOS's??

Being able to switch BIOS is pretty sweet. I've been considering the 6970 BIOS myself, just for the hell of it.

Thanks for the clear answer btw.

Hey OP, maybe you should swap cards with WelshBloke. His 6950 runs really hot. Perhaps it would heat your Alaskan house. This would kill two birds with one stone. What do you say?
