I am really surprise to see this email in my hotmail inbox and I think it is importain to let everyone else know if they have hotmail account.

I am going to move all my stuff out of this hotmail and shut down the account now.

The sender is staff@hotmail.com and this is what I got.. Has anyone else receive this?

===================

Don't Lose your Hotmail account this summer

As a valued customer, we want to remind you that if you don't sign in to MSN Hotmail® for 30 days, your account becomes inactive and:

? You will lose all e-mails and attachments in your Inbox and other folders
? All of your incoming e-mail will be rejected
? You will lose all contacts in your Address Book

This information cannot be recovered*, so make sure you sign in at least once a month.

To avoid this hassle, you can enjoy greater freedom by subscribing to MSN Extra Storage, which exempts you from this "inactive policy". It's the smartest way to prevent the loss of all the important information in your MSN Hotmail account.

SECURE MY ACCOUNT

MSN Extra Storage includes:

10MB of MSN Hotmail storage - five times the storage of a free Hotmail account
Larger attachments - send and receive attachments of up to 1.5MB per messages
Exemption from the account expiration policy

You get all of this for only $19.95** per year, so get MSN Extra Storage now.

They arent closing all the accts. That would stop thousands upon thousands of people from going to there site which there would be point in doing. They mean that if you leave ur acct inactive for a certain period of time then they will erase it so it doesnt exist anymore.. they are probably clearing up space on there databases of inactive users.

If you dont use it for that long, why would you spend $20 a year to keep it?

Hayden is right, all that says is that if you don't sign into your account within 30 days of your last sign on, you will lose all your e-mails even the saved ones. But you can sign back in and reactive the account even after 30 days as long as no one took the name while it was inactive.

looks like they're doing some late spring cleaning, atleast evil bill doesn't reduce the 30 day period to like 1 day.

I think they've been doing this for 1.5 years or more.
This is nothing new.

U probably right. I mean I have MSN messenger that will tell me if I have email or not. And since I set this email to only receive ppl on my contact list, so no stinkin spam email can get in. So most of the time I don't even have to go on to their sight to check email or do anything.

One time I turn off that block all email that isn't on my contact list. Within like 3 minutes I got like 5 junk email right away. I hurry putting it back on.

I guess once in awhile I have to send email to myself or something. LOL I didn't know they have a limit of sending 100 email in 24hrs. Learn something new everyday. LOL

Used to be 6 months of inactivity. Then it was 90 days. 30 days seems a little low. What if you go on a long vacation or something?

The email say nothing about "In-activity"

And for the fact what this is doing in HotDeal, this is hot because I thought to let ppl know so they can move their email to somewhere else instead of losing it.

I'll change the typic.

Learn to read (and type):

This is also not a Hot Deal.

I use MailWasher Pro to check my hotmail accounts, I haven't sign in to hotmail's web site for months and nothing has changed or gotten lost. I guess that as long as you use something like Outlook Express to check your hotmail account you're fine.
