And does it vibrate much? I am curious about the noise issue. THis may mark the beginning of a new mod fab..

"This is funny =] How did you mount your parts? Show us?"

Everything is just resting on legos that "stick" out in the case, in both cases, the DVD-ROM can just slide in and out of the case and the Harddrive is just being held down by gravity on some legos in side.

I would get some pics of the harddrive and how it's mounted but then I would have to take the whole computer apart and it's really hard to put it all back together in this case. I did kinda get a pic of how the mother board is mount and it's basicly the same for the hard drive except theres a bigger lip for it to rest on.

The noise is bad for my set up, I have 2 80mm thermaltake fans with the adjustable knob and the get pretty loud even if there not on high so i think it should be pretty quite with just some regualar fans, just my opinion though.

I will post pics of how I mounted it tonight on my original post.

There's more than enough power in it for me so I don't need to try and make it look like it's decent by doing that kind of junk to the outside of it.

the first one was messy but the second one wasn't, to me atleast, I don't think they melt unless you get it really hot, computers don't make enough heat to do that

The first one took 1 day, started friday night and finshed saturday mourning.
Ya that one is a little sloppy but I made another, started last night finished today(alot better then the last on in my opinion:

In the third pic you see the back of it and a fan, right behind that fan is my CPU and that fan is sucking all the air right over my heatsink and keeping it cool.

In my second pic you can see through the little window my heatsink of my video card, just some things that I find cool and the little "breath" holes for air to be sucked in.

Thanks for all the compliments on my first case, hope to see this many on my new one.

Those temps are no surprise because my system which is similarly configured runs at temps lower than that. While it may seem like I'm putting you down, I'm not. Good for you for ACTUALLY getting off your ass and building the system. Maybe next you can get a bigger set and to do more custom modifications like cutting the peices with a dremel?

But I bet you have atleast one intake fan to get the low temps, I don't have any intakes just fans blowing out.

Great start Sk8er722!!!

They get easier as you go along (And buy more pieces!)

I went to Lego Land this weekend and picked up a batch of black pieces for my next case (Friend sponsoring it to sell on ebay hopefully) and it ran $140 for the bunch. Hopefully, it will be enough for the majority of the case!

I should start working on it by this weekend, plans include taking digital pics of each piece going in and then animating it at the end but not sure how viable that is.

(Ps, if anyone is curious, it only takes about 2 hours to put the case together once you know how)

Fits any mobo form factor! Infinitely Expandible!

I'd be worried about having any kids near the thing though. They might walk off with half your legos!

That is such a cool Idea. I give you a A+ for creativity as well. I don't much care for the color scheme, but what a great idea.

hey, thats pretty cool.

I still wonder how you mount the mobo in there. Might be easier to let the computer become an old desktop (not a tower). Then you could make little pillars and make a second shelf type area and let the hard drive + cd rom sit up there.

the mini ATX would probably make it easier, as you wouldn't have as many legos. is it safe for the mobo to just sit on lego's?
