I'm not a rim guy. If I looked at your car, then away for 10 seconds, then back at it with your new rims on, I probably wouldn't even notice.

I hope they weren't expensive.

I'm a rim guy, but for some reason I don't like the look of the new ones. I think something lighter would've been better. But that's just IMO.

No, not very expensive. I'm just not a multispoke rim kinda guy, and the stockers are a major pita to keep clean...

I need a new set of wheels one way or the other. I couldn't get steel wheels because the largest they make them is 16", and I needed at least a 17". I figured if I was going to spend money on wheels just for winter, I'd rather spend the money on upgrading the ones I have, and use those for winter.

Looks like it needs to be lowered or something now, maybe its just an illusion, what size were the before and after rims?

Also is that a mazdaspeed 6 or what?

Yes, it's a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6. I agree on the car looking like it needs to be lowered now...I think it's a optical illusion since the rims are darker.

Stock rims:

18x7 +55mm offset ~25lbs ea

New Rims:

18x7.5 +48mm offset ~20lbs ea

Same tires...I only have 1800 miles on it, so I had the stock tires swapped to the new rims.

Not "substantial" enough for the car IMO.
Need's a slightly thicker spoke, less taper, and a more smoothed spoke face. And another inch in diameter to make em really fit in wheelwells nicely.

I would have gotten a set of rims that matched the color of your car...because it's grey, t's weird. But if you had say a red or a blue or whatever color car it wouldn't look as bad.

only my opinion tho.

I liked the stock rims only because they were color matched. Why don't you get these painted?

i like the new ones....i feel your pain on the winters....smallest i can go to clear the brakes are 16 as well...seems kinda dumb to spend that much for a steelie when a +1 is only a lil more

i love the color... probably the wrong reason to buy wheels... but those are the same color as brake dust. that'll make it easier to keep them looking nice... there's nothing i hate more than a set of nice wheels that are nasty and dirty with brake dust.

Nice car, I kinda like the stock rims better too, they have a newer more sophisticated look
to them. Other rims don't look bad, just look like they would go better with and old muscle car,
kinda like the old crager SS rims..

the wheels by themselves look like crap, but on your car work pretty well IMO:thumbsup:

I've got to say, I like the original wheels just as much, if not a bit more. Nothing wrong with the new 5-spoke wheels... they just don't make a big impact or change, on your car. Just my opinion.

Regardless... Happy Motoring!
