Uhm, I was able to repeated the WinME Full Retail for $71 from Staples myself. However, I tried about two hours later to get my second deal, and the Staples rep. called Target... Target said that the $89.99 is for the Win95 Upgrade only... So, the rep. didn't give me the second deal, but allowed me to keep the first.

The $95 WinME I bought at OD this morning? Sold it for $100 before lunch.

Generally the OS improves with a few service packs/patches... I've heard people are waiting until then to install it, not to buy it. Buy it when the price is low. This makes more sense.

check out this website, which will give you a file and instructions on how to get REAL MODE DOS back again in Windows ME!!!

Someone has found a way to patch the files IO.SYS, COMMAND.COM, and REGENV32.EXE to allow for the running of 16-bit programs, and as an added bonus it also allows you to press F8 at startup to boot directly into DOS.

You know, it's funny -- I have Win95, Win98, Win98SE, NT4, and Win2000, and I didn't pay a dime for any of them (95-OEM version; Win98 and SE-Dad bought copy, gave to me; NT4-coworker gave me a copy; Win2000-brother gave me a copy -- and you thought I pirated it all!). Rationalize that for this purchase of WinME, and I think I'm doing ok. Comes to roughly $15 per OS. Heh.
