Dell small business is offering 15% off software and peripherals this weekend with free shipping. Yes...you will probably have to pay sales tax but it is still a good deal.

Free shipping is for orders over $50. You might want to clarify that in the thread title. Thanks.

If you're interested in taking the plunge on one of the most beautiful monitors for sale anywhere, I highly recommend the Dell 200FP, it's a 20" LCD and the quality is staggering.

I picked one up during the last 15% off sale.

Tax is not just CA, it's charged for all earth addresses. Still a good deal though.

I would love to have that, major envy here.

I think they may have raised the price a little... I got it for about exactly $1,100, and I did the 15% off along with a stackable coupon (I don't remember the exact amount, but it wasn't over $100.) But 15% off the current price of $1499 only brings it down to $1275. The monitor has received a lot of positive reviews lately, so they've probably raised the price as it's become more popular.

Depend what you going to get. For digicam, Dell Home is 10% but no sales tax. For CA, sales tax is around 7.5%

Last week I got a dell flyer with a 15% off coupon on it.

Does anyone know if this coupon is combinable with the sale going on this weekend?

The monitor is actually either analog or DVI, which is nice. They even give you both cables. But obviously, you really want DVI. I haven't looked at it with an analog connection, but several reviews I read said it looked too fuzzy on analog.

I have a GF4 4600, but from the reviews I've read, a GF3 500 will power it just right.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor and others at 1600x1200 (which is the NATIVE resolution!!) look unbelievable.

Definitely true, I currently have 2000FP on a PC with a vid card (brand/model ??? right now) using conventional analog; and is also a little fuzzy. But will move this monitor onto a PC with DVI (GeForce 4) next week; where I've also heard results are excellent.

You might want to consider the Sharp 1620 LCD. I got one last weekend and it is pretty darn nice. Great viewing angles, brightness, contrast and response time. It did not come with a DVI cable unfortunately but it looks great on analog. I called Sharp and they told me it has the "zero black" technology but not the 10 bit gamma correction, both described in Maximum PC review of the 18" model which received their "kick ass" award.

Thjat model isn't available at Dell (which is what this thread is about.)

Or are you suggesting it's better than the 2000fp????

this deal isn't too hot for those who have to pay taxes

for example... Los Angeles tax is around 8% so...this deal is definitely not as hot than the 10% off Home...its equivalent to about 7% off

just something to remember before some of you guys jump on this deal thinking its a once in a lifetime thing

Same here, everywhere it's $890+. I settled for the 171B, cost me about $655 on the previous 15% Dell deal (free next day shipping, no tax). It is an analog-only monitor, but very high quality. I find no problems with blurriness except at lower resolutions (duh, due to interpolation). I've read some articles saying that LCD users can benefit from "ClearType" font smoothing, and honestly I think it makes all text look horrible, but I guess that's just a personal preference.

I don't understand the tax issue eveyrone is talking about... I've never paid tax in software & peripherals... is it different between that and the home store?
