Based on the pic at buydotcom and my memory of this model....
It's not a "flat-Flat" flatscreen. It does have a little curvature, but personally I don't care for completly flat screens.....heck, some of the Dell's here in the office seem concave, majorly annoying.

There is a glitch at Buy.com. When I added the monitor to my shopping cart it showed a price of $175. Should have showed $163. I called customer service and they were aware of the problem. Told me to go ahead and order online and they are going to credit my card that $12.

The HP is not a lot better. In fact, it's not nearly as good.
Crummier specs, crummer resolution, crummier picture. I bought
one of the HPs. It's servicable, but that's it. Worth what it
costs. End of story. The Dell, on the other hand, is a true bargain.
I bought one of these as well for a friend and it's curved. It's got great picture quality IMO and has a solid refresh rate of 100Hz at 1024x768 w/ the ATI Expert 98. Great colors and I have a viewsonic PT795 w/ gTS2 and it's similar except that it's 19" and is super flat. Great deal. Shipping took forever, it took over a week which is unusual for buy.
Foo. Just like the other monitor this one shows up as $165 once you put it in your basket and through checkout.... Unless they refund the difference, the price just went up to $135 shipped....
Bought one of the multimedia ones.. Nice monitor. Good for when the 19 incher goes over to my new system. I called tech support and he did indeed credit me the $12.
Hey guys, this is my very first post. I just wanted to say that this forum, "HOT DEALS" has saved me so much money. I just bought 2 of the Dell monitors, one for me and the other for my roomate, and what a bargain!!! Thanks. I'll post some deals if I ever run into one.
I've been having probs w/ the one I have bought just recently. It very slightly flickers to a yellowish color. I changed resolutions and refresh rates and left it at the recommended 1024x768. I am testing w/ an ATI Expert 98 8mb, duron system. I replugged in the power and cable. I have no other components on this system except a modem and the epox 8kta+ mobo(which is really really good) These are refurb and I think that I got a bad one. Please let me know how your' monitors turn out and heed this as a warning that you are buying refurb.
Well, buy.com just raised the prices to $165 and $175. When I ordered last night they were still showing the lower prices on the description page but coming up at the higher price when you added them to the basket. Now they have the higher price listed on the description page. Still an OK price with the $30 coupon and free shipping but I am glad I got mine ordered last night.
Kreggo. I called them and they refused to honor the price even though I bought it when it read $155 instead of the current $165. ... Buy.com pisses me off when they honor deals for certain customers and not for others. Guess they didn't learn anything after having to cough up $575,000 for doing the same on the Hitachi monitors.. This is certainly not a hot deal with it sitting at $135 considering I bought a new 17" viewsonic e771 with a 3 year warranty from mobshop.com for $150 many months ago. Grr. Anyone happen to have saved the page with it showing $155? It's the principle, rather than the measly $10 at this point.:|

Good news kreggo. After speaking with the CSR on the phone and hearing her continually say, "I'm sorry but I can't do that... the price is $165" in a really chipper condescending voice I was pretty miffed, so I hung up and quickly composed the following email and left to go out for the day. And of course I kept lingering over the bad taste left in my mouth from that CSR encounter and wished I had never called. Later decided to have my credit card company legally pursue refunding the amount in dispute (which they've graciously done in the past - I love my credit card). Well I just got home and checked my email and low and behold... buy.com came through the second time I requested a credit difference. Discarding the first encounter this morning, buy.com remains one of my favorite places to shop. I'm glad this worked out finally as I spend thousands of dollars online and I wasn't looking forward to having to avoid shopping at buy.com which consistantly remains one of the cheapest, reliable, and fastest shipping places I've purchased from on the internet.
