DELL 1800FP 18-inch LCD

Any reviews on this LCD? Does it ghost when playing games?

How does it compare to the other LCDs?

Looked at a few, decided on the Dell for it's price/performance, which I am very pleased with and have zero problems

I got one about 6 months ago for $550, and it's quite a nice display.
My one complaint is that even with ClearType configured and tweaked for BGR, the text isn't quite as sharp as with my other LCD panels (a Dell 1702 17" at work and an Apple 22" Cinema Display at home). I've tried both VGA and DVI inputs, but it still isn't as sharp as I'd like. Graphics and text without ClearType are super.

The Cinema Display, however, ghosts a bit. The 1800FP has no noticable ghosting

I see no ghosting on DVI

contrast/blacks could be better but the price was right

I am very happy with mine, never experienced any ghosting either.... I got mine for just over $400...

Got three of these in March when they were $373. DVI has gone bad on one of them (won't come out of power save mode). Analog works fine on that unit. Too bad I have a dual-DVI card which was working fine until a month ago. :/

IMO, the difference is neglible.

Is this the 20" LCD? that is what I have and the big problem is it's native resolution is 1600x1200. I know of no vid card / cpu combo that will play most / all modern games at that resolution at any reasonable FPS

Have you tried a Radeon 9800 Pro? should run them fine

In my eyes they are indistinguisable. Just hit the "auto-set" button for analog & it's great.

grant2, you may have to see DVI vs. analog side-by-side to see the difference. Even with the same card (I have dual-DVI GF4 Ti4600, one 1800FP only runs analog now ), the difference is very noticeable.
